After the brief fling with nuclear artillery guns the Soviets would instead opt for missiles for this role following improvements in guidance technology. These would also find a home on top of a tank chassis with the R-11M (aka SCUD-A) launcher fitted to an ISU-152K chassis

These absurd looking vehicles are not only ridiculous to look at but were capable of doing more damage than any other self propelled guns ever built. Fitted atop a modified T-10 chassis the 2B1 "Oka" and 2A3 "Kondensater" carried weaponry capable of firing a nuclear charge.

A slightly comical illustration of what appears to be a T-34 inspired tank being hit by a shaped charge warhead

Finally managed to get a successful print using recycled plastic from a plastic bottle. By using a method called "pulltrusion" you can form PET plastic into filament that will print on most 3D printers. Really excited to experiment with this more and help reuse what would otherwise be more plastic waste

Another rare fan favorite on display at CFB Borden, this time the Sherman Crab. Surprisingly while still being somewhat rare there are a decent number of these still around today. As you can see in pic 4 each of the flails is a bit smaller than a baseball if you were curious.

Definitely wouldn't want to stand close to one of these when it was spinning

If you haven't already heard there's a new Tiger in town now that Musée des Blindés has completed their restoration. Now they not only have a running Tiger of their own but it has been redone with the historical French markings from its service against the Germans after capture

This tank is just one of the examples of Tigers in foreign service that I covered in a video earlier this year. Check it out to learn the full story: https://youtu.be/pVIDXNMK4UU

Speaking of unique Jagdpanzer 38(t)s did you know a prototype carrying a 15cm howitzer was built?

Plans to utilize this chassis for a variety of different purposes were explored but due to the worsening situation for Germany few went past the testing stage. Production during the war was limited primarily to the tank destroyer itself and Bergepanzer 38(t) recovery vehicles.

This is not to say the 38(t) itself wasn't used outside of this as both Flakpanzer and open topped tank destroyer designs were also built using it.

I often see posts asking what your favorite tank is, but what about your LEAST favorite tank?

For a Sunday Showcase today we will explore the Jagdpanzer 38(t) named "Chwat" and the newly released COBI set based on him.

This vehicle would change hands from the Germans to the Polish during the Warsaw uprising being knocked out and later repaired by rebel forces. Although it would not see any combat it did see use as part of a roadblock. Sadly, though the tank would survive the war buried in rubble, it was later scrapped after a brief time on display at the Polish Army Museum with only a single roadwheel remaining today.

The memory of "Chwat", which translates to something along the lines of brave/daredevil, is not forgotten though with the Polish brand COBI recreating the vehicle in one of their recent sets which are available in my store: https://coneofarc.store/cobi-jagdpanzer-38t-chwat-brave-128-scale

Tanks tend to be much larger in person than you imagine and this is especially the case when it comes to bridging vehicles. These two Canadian ones are built on the Leopard 1 and give a great look at both the packed and deployed sizes
