The Library will be closed on Thursday, August 20, for a Staff Development Day.

A few notes about our programs scheduled for the next few days:

*Tomorrow's Chess Club is canceled as the McLellan Room is being used for a meeting.

Hudson Public Library is happy to announce our new language database, Transparent Language Online, brought to you by the MBLC!

To access Transparent Language, visit our eLibrary at https://huds.pl/elibrary, then scroll down and click “Transparent Language”. From there, click “Sign Up” to create a new account. Fill out the fields, agree to the Terms of Use and Privacy Policy, and click “Create Account”

There are nineteen new bestsellers, six new movies, 32 new audiobooks, 20 new children's books, and 79 other new books, including 86 that are available online.

The new bestsellers this week include "The Odyssey," "Dolly All the Time," and "Ransom." The new movies this week include "Obsession [Blu-ray]," "The Devil Wears Prada 2," and "The Devil Wears Prada 2 [Blu-ray]."

Hey kids: It's your last week to log your reading for this year's Summer Experience and enter to win the end-of-summer prizes. You can have your adult use the Beanstack app or you can bring your reading log to the Children's desk through this Saturday, August 1, at 5 PM.

This we're thankful for Farmer Jen from Goodpickin' Farms and all the families who came to the Books with Bunnies & Chatting with Chicks events. We're also grateful to the Desmond family for their ongoing support of the Library and for making these events possible.

Our end of the Summer Experience youth celebration will take place at Roller Kingdom on Monday, August 10, from 1-3 PM. Registration is required and youth must have participated in the Summer Experience. There's still time to sign up through the Beanstack app or at the Children's desk. Children and their caregivers are invited to join us on August Saturdays for our Drop-In Crafts. We'll finish up our "Plant a Seed, Read" Summer Experience on August 1 with a farm craft then do summer crafts.
