This has been one of the hardest years for us—not just as small business owners, but as homeowners.

You dream about buying your forever home, finally get there…and then it feels like everything that can go wrong, does.

A lot of money spent. A lot of unexpected repairs. A lot of late nights worrying about what was going to break next and how we were going to get everything taken care of.

Through all of it, McSquared Customs had to take a back seat for a while.

But the shop is dry again, the tools are getting put back where they belong, and the gears are finally starting to turn again.

Tonight, that means getting back to doing what we enjoy—turning a simple piece of wood into something made specifically for someone.
Avi’s Kitchen is one of the first projects coming out of the shop as we get rolling again, and it feels pretty damn good to be making sawdust again.

We’re not completely back to normal yet—but we’re getting there.

🚀 Something new is landing at McSquared Customs...

I've been working on a new line of full-wrap 20oz skinny tumblers featuring places that mean something.

First up: HUNTSVILLE.

Instead of a simple skyline, this design brings together many of the landmarks that make Rocket City what it is—space exploration, Redstone Arsenal, the Space & Rocket Center, downtown, and the places that make Huntsville home.

Every design is being built from scratch and optimized specifically for sublimation, so it wraps cleanly around the tumbler with crisp detail from top to bottom.

This is just the beginning.

What city should I tackle next?

For the last several months, I've been quietly working on something that's become much bigger than I ever expected.

Like a lot of small business owners, I didn't start my business because I love paperwork. I started it because I love creating things, solving problems, and building something people are proud to own.

But somewhere along the way, I found myself spending more time managing quotes, orders, invoices, inventory, and production than actually making things.

So I decided to build the tool I wished I had.

Not because I wanted to write software—but because I wanted to spend more time in the shop and less time chasing paperwork.

If it helps me stay organized, reduces some stress, and lets me focus on creating, then it's already worth it.

If one day it helps another small business owner do the same... that would be even better.

This is still a work in progress, but it's becoming something I'm genuinely proud of. I'll share more as it grows.

Back to building.

Building furniture, software, careers, families, and character all have something in common

They are built one piece at a time.

One thing I've learned over the years is that being responsible can feel lonely.

People see the finished product:

The paycheck.
The house.
The degree.
The business.

They don't always see the sacrifices behind it.

The late nights.
The stress.
The decisions.
The weight of knowing people are depending on you.
