Yesterday was quite a fun and magical day, hanging out with Taylor Burton of The Silver Silos. He performed several songs for us at Clearwave Recording Studios. Jeremy Stephens has built quite the special place and we look forward to revisiting in the near future.

Enjoy this little teaser of Taylor performing one of The Silver Silos' tracks from their album, recorded right there at Clearwave.

The latest from Megan Knight is here! “I Love a Cowboy” is live now. Filmed at The NuttHouse Recording Studio, this performance was such a joy for us to capture. 🤠🎶

Capturing emotion is one of the core ideas behind Local Color Media. Every story is different. Every person, place, business, organization, and performance carries something specific worth noticing.

That’s the part I’m always looking for.

The pride of a small business owner sharing how they built something.

The compassion of a nonprofit director explaining why their mission matters.

The energy of an artist fully alive in a performance.

Local Color Media focuses on cinematic storytelling for small businesses, nonprofits, artists, musicians, and community-driven organizations across North Alabama.

Not just making things look polished but truly finding the feeling that makes people care.

What about you? What do you have or do that is worth noticing?

Sunshine Performance Final 06/13/2026

There are some performances that don’t need much decoration. Just a voice, a cello, a room, and the right kind of light.

We had the pleasure of filming Kelly Joyner’s performance of “Sunshine” at Studio Huntsville, and are excited to share it.

This is a performance-only version of the song, created alongside the official video, which features choreographed dancers. For this version, we wanted to let the music sit front and center: Kelly’s voice, Kevin’s cello, and the mood of the room carrying the piece.

Kelly brings such a beautiful emotional weight to this song, and Kevin’s cello gives the whole performance an intimate, cinematic feel. We kept the visuals simple, warm, and a little dreamlike, letting the performance breathe without getting in its way.

Grateful to Kelly for trusting us with this one, and grateful to Studio Huntsville for giving us the space to create it.

A bookstore, a live audience, local writers, and community radio.

Loved getting to film The Sundial Writers Corner podcast for WLRH at Snail on the Wall.

This is the kind of local storytelling we love to capture.

Had a great evening filming The Sundial Writers Corner podcast for WLRH at Snail on the Wall.

There’s just something so cool about a bookstore full of people listening to local writers share their work. Books on the shelves, a live audience, community radio in the room, and plenty of stories being passed around.

This is the kind of thing we love getting to capture with Local Color Media.

Big thanks to WLRH 89.3 FM/HD and The Snail on the Wall for letting us be part of the evening.

Feeling grateful this morning for so many creative people in and around North Alabama.

Earlier this week, I had the pleasure of filming Jimmy Nutt at The NuttHouse Recording Studio in Sheffield.

Some rooms just feel alive before anyone says a word.

Nutthouse has that kind of energy: instruments in the corners, screens glowing, wood floors, cables, k***s, and stories tucked into the walls. It’s a working studio, but it also feels like a living archive of songs, sessions, and artists chasing the thing they came in hoping to make.

Jimmy has spent years helping people do exactly that.

Grateful for the chance to sit down with him, hear a few stories, and capture some of the perspective that comes from years of helping artists shape their sound.
