Second Mile Development

Thank you Zumbathon friends! We had such a great time dancing with you last Saturday. You are all such a blessing to Second Mile!

Every year, Eleanor Keith, Zumba Nana, and their friends host a Zumbathon to collect supplies and donations for us! It’s such a special way to kick off our school year, and we are incredibly grateful for their support.

Zumba is no joke, and these ladies danced for hours to make it happen! We need y'all to bring that same energy to preschool! 😂💃

Thank you for loving us so well and helping us start the school year strong.

Today we had the honor to present a check to Second Mile Preschool for $9,130! Second Mile Preschool provides affordable, high quality education in a Christian environment in an underserved community.

The work they do is phenomenal and we are happy to help them provide these much needed services for children.

This donation is part of our give back campaign. A percentage of every estate planning package fee is donated to a local charity each quarter. Second Mile was our Q2 2026 charity!

We are ready to get BACK TO SCHOOL! The Second Mile Preschool team has outdone themselves this year and we can't wait to have the kiddos and their families back in the building!

Weeds to pull, mulch to move, plants to prune. Weather permitting Patti will be out working in the Second Mile Garden this Wednesday around 10:30 if anyone is looking for a fun way to lend a hand!

Let’s Dance! What a fun way to support Second Mile Preschool while getting in your workout and having fun with friends! Join the fun this Saturday, August 8 from 1:00-3:00 at the Jones Valley Wellness Center.

Did someone say clowns?? The Neighborhood Store has plenty!

Today we are praying for our teachers, students, administrators, lunchroom workers, custodians, coaches, counselors, librarians, SRO officers, teachers aids, school nurses, PTA's members, teaching specialists, bus drivers, after school programs, and family volunteers in the community who are headed back to school today! We pray that their buildings are filled with lots of joyful learning and new friendships, and that they have a safe and happy day!

These kids showed up and worked hard! Last week we had the pleasure of sharing Second Mile with the young people of Southwood Presbyterian Church. These kids took the time to learn about the work we do through the Neighborhood Thrift Store and Neighborhood Baby Thrift Store. They helped us prepare a lovely treat for the families we love through our Second Mile Preschool. They participated in Bible Study and fellowship while learning about the ministry of The 29:11 Story Ministry. They ended their week working and witnessing the beauty of the neighborhood we serve in the Second Mile Garden. They listened, prayed, worked and engaged in our community and we are so grateful for them! Thank you for spending time with us!
