September is Childhood Cancer Awareness Month. Did you know that each year over 15,000 children are diagnosed with cancer in the U.S.? Unfortunately, Childhood Cancer is something that Darby's Dancers is very familiar with. From our namesake, Darby Jones, to some of our amazing dancers, it is a tough road to walk. After Darby lost her lifelong battle with leukemia, her parents, Valerie and Patrick, set out to help studios provide a safe and inclusive space for kids of ALL abilities to dance, perform, and be kids!
We are thankful for the time we had with Darby and the lasting impact she has across the U.S. through DD. Today, we take a moment to think about and honor all the children, families, friends, and medical care providers who deal with or will deal with the reality of Childhood Cancer. Our thoughts, prayers, and love are with you all. Shine Bright, friends! 💙🎗💙
