The Storm Prediction Center has upgraded our Severe Weather Outlook to a 'Slight' Risk (level 2 of 5), and the Damaging Wind Outlook has been bumped up to 15%. Storms are expected to arrive by the afternoon & continue through tonight. Torrential rainfall could lead to some flooding concerns, and frequent lightning and small hail will also be possible. Make sure to have multiple ways to receive warnings & stay weather aware!

🌡 Dangerous heat and humidity will continue through mid-week. Continue to practice heat safety by staying hydrated, taking frequent breaks if you're outdoors, and never leaving children or pets in a vehicle.

🌩 We have a chance for strong storms Monday afternoon. SPC has placed areas shaded in dark green under a 'Marginal' Risk (Level 1 of 5) for severe storms, while far northeastern portions of Jackson and DeKalb counties, shaded in yellow, are under a 'Slight' Risk (Level 2 of 5). The main threats will be strong, gusty winds and heavy rainfall.

⚠️ Heat and humidity are combining to push heat index values into the triple digits before lunchtime across much of the area.

A Heat Advisory remains in effect, and heat index values will continue to rise this afternoon. Remember heat related illnesses can develop quickly, so stay hydrated and take frequent A/C breaks if spending time outdoors.

A Heat Advisory will go into effect at 1 p.m. Wednesday and continue through 7 p.m. Friday. High heat and humidity will lead to dangerous conditions. Weather Authority Impact Days will go into effect tomorrow and continue through Monday.

Stay indoors if you can! Try to limit strenuous activities to early morning or evening.
