UPDATE: The roadway is back open.
----
Hutto Fire Rescue (WCESD #3) is currently on scene of a brush fire in the field near Mager Lane and CR 132. Crews have made significant progress and are now in the mop-up stage of the incident.

At this time, Mager Lane is closed between CR 132 and Clarks Way. We'll update this post once mop-up operations are complete and the road is reopened.

Today, our Ladder 1 crew continued one of our favorite traditions by helping the Hutto High School Marching Band celebrate and cool off as they near the end of summer band practice before the school year begins next month.

We know this may just look like a super fun way to beat the heat, but events like this also give our crews another opportunity to practice and reinforce important skills, like ladder and hose operations.

We're grateful for our strong partnership with Hutto ISD and look forward to continuing traditions like this that bring us all together.

Good luck this season, Hippo Band! 🎺

All three of Hutto Fire Rescue's deployed members have safely returned home after assisting communities across Texas impacted by recent severe weather and flooding.

Through the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) and Texas Task Force 2 (TTF2), our personnel supported response and recovery efforts in multiple communities during a time of great need.

During their two-week deployment, the Texas Task Force 2 team traveled approximately 1,600 miles and responded in eight different cities, remaining available 24/7 to answer requests from the State of Texas.

We are incredibly proud of our members' commitment to serving others beyond our own community. Their willingness to answer the call wherever they're needed reflects the dedication of the fire service, the strong partnerships during disasters, and the spirit of Texans helping Texans when it matters most.

Most importantly, our thoughts remain with the individuals, families, and communities continuing to recover from these devastating storms.

Please join us in welcoming our members home and thanking all of the first responders, emergency personnel, and volunteers who worked tirelessly throughout these events. Welcome home, and thank you for your service!

The US National Weather Service Austin-San Antonio Texas has issued an Extreme Heat Warning for our area today until 8PM. Dangerously hot conditions are expected, with heat index values reaching as high as 115Β°F.

πŸš— Never leave people or pets in a vehicle.
β˜€οΈ Minimize your time spent outdoors in the heat if possible.
πŸ’§ Drink plenty of water, even if you don't feel thirsty.
🧒 Wear loose-fitting, light-colored clothing.
πŸ‘΅ Check on older adults, neighbors, and anyone without reliable air conditioning.

Heat-related illnesses can develop quickly. If you must be outdoors, take frequent breaks in the shade or air conditioning and know the signs of heat exhaustion and heat stroke.

Hutto Fire Rescue (WCESD #3) currently has three of our personnel deployed to communities in Texas that have been impacted by recent severe weather and flooding.

Tyler Richter and Donald Hazelett are currently deployed through the Texas Intrastate Fire Mutual Aid System (TIFMAS) and are currently assigned to the Del Rio area, assisting with response and recovery efforts.

Our third member, Rick, is deployed with Texas Task Force 2, one of only two state Urban Search & Rescue teams in Texas. Since deploying earlier this week, he has already been assigned to three different cities as the team continues assisting communities impacted by the storms.

Our thoughts are with the individuals, families, and communities affected by these devastating weather events.

We are also grateful for the dedication and service of our personnel, as well as all first responders working tirelessly to support those in need. Please join us in wishing them a safe deployment and safe return home.
