The second image was taken 2 miles from the launch pad on Loop Rd. The amount of light that a Falcon 9 emits is enough to clearly light a number of vehicles in an area where there are absolutely no lights.

Working on a Dept of Defense contract that was signed 2 years ago, SpaceX continued launching satellites for the NROL. This mornings launch from SLC #40 went off on time with gentle breezes and moderate humidity...even at 03:10 Hrs. About 8 minutes later, the first stage booster returned with its own early morning alarm.....

The MRV-1 (MacGyver) satellite will be the first of its type to link up to other satellites, perform automated refueling/repairs. while at the same time it can be refueled in space as needed.
A full article on this amazing satellite & technology behind it will be posted with launch images on our website shortly after the launch

Even with oppressing humidity and temperatures a bit below what has been experienced & topped with heavily clouded skies, SpaceX sent off the latest Starlink (10-45) at 05:10 this morning on a NE trajectory.
With the heavy clouds any hope of a "jellyfish" did not materialize in this area
