Inspiration Exotics

Hazel was one of the first snakes I ever bought. She’s a hissy lady but so calm once she’s actually out, and I looooove that reddish tone she has. I debated selling her for a bit because my hognose plans have changed, but I bought her from Tom Harbin Reptiles before he passed, so she’s never leaving.

I’m in New Mexico this week (shout out to my amazing boyfriend for taking care of all of my critters!) and found two herps on my very first day here!! The first one is a garter - I’m guessing the black-necked garter, Thamnophis cyrtopsis. The second is some species of Sceloporus (spiny/fence lizards) but I couldn’t tell you what species. The last picture is me holding both in one hand in an attempt to get pictures, because I found the garter while I was heading back in the house for my phone to take a picture of the lizard. 😂

The babies are newly shed! All of these are possible het monsoon. I will be doing shed testing to determine who is, since unfortunately their saddle pattern is so lacking.

As is typical, I forgot to get pictures with anyone from Colubridfest on MY actual phone. But it was an amazing time! I learned so much, met so many amazing people (new and old friends!) and saw some incredible animals. is in the books and SO worth the trip. Thanks so much to everyone who made it happen, everyone who came, and everyone otherwise associated!

I LOVE making posts like this. This morning, this baby arrived at his new home with bri !!! and his new digs are AMAZING. So many breeders out there claim that ball pythons don’t thrive in larger naturalistic enclosures, but it’s just not true, and this enclosure is perfect for a ball python. Bri is EXACTLY the kind of customer I want to work with! I care about my animals and what homes they end up in, and I’m often happy when I see update pictures of my babies, but Bri’s effort here just blew it out of the water. This baby hit the jackpot.

I turn down sales more often than other breeders because I believe in vetting the homes my snakes go to. Bri is exactly the kind of person I beg the universe to send me when I’m looking for homes for baby snakes. She so clearly cares about him - just as much if not more than I do. I had to show off this enclosure and this little guy thriving in his new home!

Advancing husbandry should always be the goal. Responsible breeding and responsible buying should go hand in hand. Thank you so much, Bri, for letting me share these pictures!!

Thank you so much to the Attica Public Library for inviting me out to do an educational program! Libraries and reptiles are my two biggest passions.

A little pile o’ pieds! Pairing was cinnamon fractal (het monsoon) het pied X banana pied het clown.

We have our first pip, and it’s a pied!
