In-Kind Donor Spotlight

A heartfelt thank you to Teacher's Treasures for their generous in-kind donation in support of Project WILL's 4th Annual Bubbles & Bags Brunch & Auction!

Teacher's Treasures and Margaret Sheehan hold a special place in the history of Project WILL. As our very first community host site, they opened their doors to our members, providing meaningful volunteer opportunities where individuals could build confidence, develop workplace skills, and make a real difference by supporting teachers and classrooms throughout Central Indiana.

Their partnership didn't stop there.

Teacher's Treasures also became the first host site to hire one of our members into competitive, integrated employment, thus demonstrating what is possible when businesses and nonprofits recognize the talents, abilities, and potential of individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

What if buying an ice cream cone could help prepare a young person for their first job?

At Project WILL, we believe employment preparedness doesn't begin after graduation, but instead it begins through meaningful experiences while students are still in high school.

On Monday, July 13, our Camp WILL participants will have the incredible opportunity to gain real-world workplace experience at Scoopz Ice Cream at The AMP at 16 Tech.

Throughout the day, our campers will be practicing customer service, teamwork, communication, problem-solving, and workplace professionalism alongside the Scoopz team. These experiences help build confidence while planting seeds for future employment.

We're incredibly grateful to Scoopz Ice Cream for believing in our mission and creating an inclusive workplace experience for our young adults.

Even better, a portion of all sales from 11:00 a.m. – 1:30 p.m. will be donated back to Project WILL to help us continue providing employment preparedness opportunities for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities.

This Fourth of July, as our nation celebrates 250 years of independence, we're reminded that independence is more than a moment in history—it's something that can be nurtured every day.
