“Join us as we pray for all affected by the Spokane area fires. As of [August 2, 12:00 p.m.], there have been over 600+ structures (homes, etc.) have been lost. Pray that God’s mercy and presence would be tangibly felt by all affected. Pray for the Church to rise up and be the hands and feet of Jesus.

“We know there are Free Methodist church members whose homes have been lost. This is especially impacting our communities at First Free Methodist Church, Spokane and Timberview Church in Mead. Opportunity Christian Fellowship is also in the region but further from the evacuation zone. As we gather updates from our local leaders in the next few days, we’ll share opportunities for your churches to help.

We ask that You grant strength to those affected by the wildfires raging across the western United States. Please be with the first responders, tirelessly working to protect lives. Please protect them and provide them with the strength needed as they step into harm’s way to safeguard others. Please, Lord, help those impacted by the fires find the wisdom to heed evacuation orders and find safe shelters where they can find comfort and solace. Please bring communities together to offer assistance and support as they help one another throughout this ordeal.
