This September, Local 120 is joining LiUNA Midwest Region’s “We Walk on Wednesday” 2026 Su***de Awareness Virtual Walk to honor those we’ve lost, break the stigma around mental health, and remind our brothers, sisters, friends, and family that they are not alone.

We’re encouraging all of our members to participate. Walk with your crew, your family, or on your own any Wednesday this month.

📝 Want to dedicate your walk to someone you’ve lost or someone you’re walking for? Stop by the Local 120 office and pick up a dedication paper. Write their name, carry it with you on your walk, and help us honor their memory.

Today, delegates at LIUNA’s 27th International Convention approved a resolution to formally expand LEAN LIUNA initiatives across all nine LIUNA Regions. This commitment will help bring even more support for mental health, substance use and other types of adversity to LIUNA members and their families. The LHSFNA is proud to be leading the way in expanding peer support within LIUNA and fighting to end the stigma of asking for help.

Today at LIUNA's 27th International Convention, GST Michael F. Sabitoni shared his vision for LIUNA's future - where every generation adds a link to the chain of those who came before them, protecting what we've fought for as we stake out new ground.

He reminded us that real leadership means being accessible for honest conversations, putting in the work when no one is watching, and treating everybody with dignity and respect along the way.

In the trades, we tackle tough jobs together — and overcoming substance use is no different.
