At Paws & Think, we believe that great therapy dogs come in all shapes, sizes, and breeds. That's why we have no breed restrictions for our registered therapy teams. Whether your dog is a purebred, a mixed breed, or a one-of-a-kind "super mutt," what matters most is their temperament, training, and love for connecting with people.

Every day, our incredible therapy teams prove that compassion doesn't come with a pedigree. From libraries and schools to hospitals and community events, dogs of all breeds are making a difference!

And since it's , it's the perfect time to share some of the amazing faces that make our mission possible!

Happy Retirement to Therapy Dog Maisie! 💙💛

After more than four years of dedicated service, Therapy Dog Maisie is officially retiring from Paws & Think.

Alongside her mom/handler, Maisie served more than 300 volunteer hours and touched over 4,100 lives. From visits at the Ascension St. Vincent Stress Center and other Paws to Heal locations to Butler University and other Paws Around Town venues, Maisie brought joy and smiles wherever she went.

Thank you to Maisie and her family for sharing her with Paws & Think and our community. We are so grateful for the difference she made in the lives of so many.

Now it's time for a well-deserved retirement filled with camping, hiking, and making new memories with her family. We wish you many happy adventures ahead!

Mary Bennett and Liesl: This team loves to visit Brooke’s Place and are a regular team at Southeastern Elementary school as a Paws to Read Team. Liesl is as sweet as can be and simply loves pets. What a standout team!

Beth Chalupa and Butkus + Charlie: Beth volunteers with her 2 Miniature Bernedoodles weekly at IU Saxony Hospital. She takes Butkus and his sister, Charlie, on alternating weeks. Both dogs absolutely love to be pet and spread happiness wherever they go. We are so grateful for Beth's dedication to improving lives through the awesome power of the human-dog connection.

Way to go teams! We look forward to continuing to see you at our partner venues and special events! 💙🐾💛

JULY 2026 YOUTH-CANINE GRADS 🎓✨

These amazing dogs are from SOAR: Street Outreach Animal Response Initiative! Most of our graduates are available for adoption after graduating last week from Paws & Think's Youth-Canine Program at the Marion County Youth Services Center (MCYSC), where they were trained in basic manners and skills by the youth participants.

A special note about Myah: Myah is not currently available for adoption. She is participating in SOAR's Crisis Foster Program while her owner takes part in a sober living program. She joined the Youth-Canine Program this week for a break from the rescue, giving her the opportunity to work her brain, learn new skills, and enjoy a different environment.

🐾 From the Youth-Canine Program to Forever Homes! ❤️

One of the most rewarding parts of our Youth-Canine Programs is watching shelter dogs build confidence, learn new skills, and find the loving families they deserve.

So far in 2026, 7 of the 15 dogs we've worked with have already found their forever homes! 🎉 Congratulations to Morpheus, Sheila, Chicken Little, Asher, Darla, Peggy Sue, and Thumper - we're so happy your next chapter has begun!

Now, we're hoping to celebrate even more happy endings. 💙 Meet our current graduates who are still waiting for their forever families:

Renee Jent and Sterling: Sterling is a dapper 5-year-old labradoodle with a gentle soul. Renee and Sterling enjoy volunteering at the Women’s Hospital and during several special events. This team brings so much happiness and joy to all those they meet. We can’t wait to see how many more lives they touch!

Susan Sveen and Ody: Ody is a 7.5-year-old bernedoodle with a smile so bright it's sure to make you smile. Susan and Ody enjoy volunteering at memory care facilities as well as assisted living facilities. This duo brings so much joy to those they meet, we are so grateful for them!

Danielle Reed and Max: Max, a 13-year-old German Shepherd and Chow mix, is one handsome fella. This team can be found volunteering at Brooke’s Place as well as special events. Thank you for your time service team!

Claire Greco and Teddy: Teddy is a 8-year-old-labradoodle and just the friendliest guy there is. This team can be found at various libraries volunteering as well as various events with kiddos. Teddy sure does enjoy sharing his love with children. Great job team!
