Gas isn't something I'm interested in guessing about. If the detector alerts me to a potential leak, it gets documented, and the appropriate next step is recommended.

The crawlspace is one of the most honest rooms in a house. You can see the underside of the floor, the supports, the ductwork, any signs of moisture. I evaluate what's everything visible and safely accessible.
Indiana humidity makes this view matter even more.
