FIDO Indy is a non-profit, animal advocacy organization formed in 2005 that works with dog owners to improve the quality of life for their dogs. FIDO Indy partners with Indianapolis residents to find alternatives to continuous chaining as a method of dog containment while promoting the Indianapolis Dog Care & Treatment ordinances. One of our goals is to make it easier and more convenient for owners to bring their dogs inside the home to be part of the family. Outreach and sharing humane education is a large part of the work we do at FIDO Indy. We offer supplies and services to residents who are interested in working with us to improve their dogs’ quality of life. FIDO Indy partners with other organizations to provide spay/neuter assistance, which we require, for the dogs we serve. Our services are provided for free or at a nominal fee. It's almost October....the spookiest time of year and we have to ask....who will be our Frightful Furball?
We want to see your furry (or scaly!) friends getting into the Halloween spirit! Costumes are highly encouraged, but totally optional! A spooky setting, a pumpkin prop, or just a hilariously evil glare counts, too. 🧡

Meet Zenzi!
Zenzi is quite the escape artist, which led his mom to reach out to us asking for assistance and containing him. On the day of the build, Zenzi joined the fence team as they put up a fence panel at the part of her original fence that had deteriorated over time. They also patched some spots in the pre-existing fence that Zenzi could try to work through. Now Zenzi can't sneak off to visit the neighbors across the street which means his mom can rest easy!
Meet Juke and Bowser!
We originally built them an enclosure earlier this spring. Last month, their dad gave us a call to explain that he would be moving in September and that he needed help moving their enclosure. Thanks to calling us in advance, our fence team was able to arrange the assessment ahead of the move date. So on the day that the enclosure needed moved, we were able to get it dissambled, moved, and reassembled all in one day!

Mum sale is still going until 12:00 noon today!
Come on down and get your gorgeous ginormous fall mums. We still have deep reds, pinky/purples, and sunny yellow plants.
Plus, we still have plenty of ornamental cabbage and kale plants.
We will be here until 12 in the parking lot of Pet Supplies Plus - Broad Ripple at 2238 E 62nd St, 46201. Look for the big green FIDO tent.

Multiple times a week our case managers hit the streets of Indianapolis. While they are out navigating the back alleys in search of dogs in need of help, they also make home visits to check in on FIDO clients.
The first pup is Indy. She is a rambunctious little girl who loves when our case managers stop by and is sure to cover them in kisses before they leave. Indy's dad knows that he can come by our Pet Food Pantry when they need low-cost pet food and flea treatment.
The second picture features Pepper (the smaller dog) and Logan (the husky mix). Our case managers stopped by to say hi. Logan is currently on our Spay/Neuter Assistance waitlist. Once he is fixed, our fence team will be going out to construct a secure enclosure so that he and his brother can run and play.

Check out Taz's new chill zone!
Taz is a big pup with a ton of energy. Unfortunately for us, he is not a fan of strangers and would not have enjoyed checking out his new enclosure with us present so he is not included in the picture.
However, Taz does enjoy spending time with his owner's grandchildren when they come by to visit. But because of his size, when the kids are excited and running in and out of the house, he forgets how big he is and accidentally knocks them over. So the solution was to build him a separate 'chill zone' so that he can have a place of his own to enjoy when the kids are running about. But when the grand kids leave, he immediately gets full access to the rest to his fenced in yard.

Meet Romeo!
Romeo and his family live in a neighborhood with a lot of stray dogs. His owner wanted to be able to let Romeo and his other pup Lady out to play but was understandably concerned for their safety. He also wasn't always able to take them on walks due to health issues.
Our fence team came out and built this spacious enclosure for Romeo and Lady to enjoy. The team made sure to enclose a door so that their owner can easily let them in & out without fear for their safety.
This work would not have been possible without the support of our friends at Bone Dry Roofing. Their continued support for our fence program allows us to construct these fenced enclosures for pup's in need. 💚
