I am way behind on getting going on this one, but this is the detailed project I want to get done for ACME in Oct...

Kyle Larson's Mello Yellow throwback from Darlington in 2015. I had done the seat way back months ago...and I have an awesome custom made dash from Jaye Model Garage to use as well.

I really need to get this one finished to justify popping open a sealed Chase SS kit! :)

So far the usual mods I do for a detail build. Hood and truck will be open along with roof flaps. I drew and printed a few pieces for the chassis....mainly the front a-arm mounts, splitter and front lower bumper. I plan to leave the chassis as sub-assemblies to make painting and detailing easier. Just a few more body details to address, then I can get all this primed and ready for paint.

Fun little project I have been working on when I get time. This little Brewster Baker Camaro is an A-1 Raceworks 3D printed kit. Low parts count, but looks really cool so far!

I used Tamiya TS-44 with a little TS-10 added in it for the front end. And TS-86 for the red stripe. Rear deck was some Vallejo red-brown airbrushed on for the primer color. Powerslide decals....I need to do some more final assembly, and then I think I am going to dirty it up a little bit.

Here's where I am at on the engine. The block and heads are files from Cults. But I drew and printed the water pump, Hilborn fuel pump and injectors. New font cover, water pump, P/S pump, and the Barnes dry sump oil pan and filter. I am messing with the plug boots now as you can see. I may go a bit smaller on those. And I am trying out some cardboard sheet to simulate the cork valve cover gaskets. TBD on those too.

But I am really digging the look of the different parts and finishes so far!

I mentioned in my last post something "big" was coming...well here it is!

I've had the idea in my head for a while to attempt a scratch built vintage sprint car in 1/16th scale. This will be Sammy Swindell's Nance house car from 81-82. I'm doing the non wing car.

Once Rexton nailed the hood for me, he drew up the fuel cell and we printed both off at 1/16 scale, and we were off and running! I bought the tire files from Cults, and with some small tweaking got those printed as well. Rims will be machined aluminum. The chassis isn't quite finished yet. Still needs a bunch of mounts and tabs yet. You can see the size difference between the new chassis, and my 1/24 scale one I made last year.

Cults only got me so far, so thanks to a huge amount of help from my man Jaye Suto, I took the plunge and started drawing my own parts to print. LOTS of trial and error, but I am slowly getting the hang of it.

I drew up the steering box and printed it, and machined the center column on the lathe. The cross tube is brass tubing.

The QC rear end was a Cults file, the axle is K&S stainless steel tubing, and I mock threaded the ends. I drew up the birdcages, rotor hats, and JFZ calipers and printed those. The rotors are turned aluminum.

Just getting started, but so far I am having a blast! Thanks for checking it out!

Finally got the Butch Lindley Pontiac Sportsman car finished up. Whew...this one fought me every step of the way.... So many things went wrong, all self induced mind you! lol

And so many things I wish I could change or do over, but I got to the point I just wanted to see it finished and off my bench. Overall it came out pretty cool, I was just super frustrated with it, and my work on it. But you will have that, not every kit is a dream build.

I've been trying to make progress on the Butch Lindley Sportsman project lately, but man this thing has fought me every step of the way!

It has come so close to going back in the box I don't know how many times! But I think I can see the finish line finally.

I ended up using Tamiya TS86 for the red, and Omni clear. I had to mask off and spray the headlight covers....and I got the foil work done. Once I get the front windshield figured out I can start the decals. Which should go quick, this car was pretty sparse for decals.

Hopefully I can wrap this one up soon!

I haven't had much free time lately to do much modeling, but I do have something cool to share!

I've got a long stalled Nance sprint car project that needed an accurate hood. I just haven't had time to mess with it, so my son decided to tackle designing one for me, and did an incredible job on it! We made a few tweaks to it, but it came out great. 3D printed in gray resin, and the finish is outstanding.

I've got it mocked up here on my brass Jensen Const. Nance chassis, but with a bit of sanding and trimming, it should work for Monogram chassis as well.

I had a few extras run off, and they are up on my ebay page if interested!

He's also working on a vintage style fuel cell as well that should be done soon. Now i have no excuses to not get back to work on this one! :)

Been uploading some new sheets to my eBay page. Some old stuff, a few new Powerslide sheets, and the brand new PT 1990 Ricky Rudd Levi Garrett Lumina sheet. This one turned out awesome. Includes full color placement sheet to boot!

Finished up the Kyle Larson dirt Late model project. This was a full 3D printed kit by https://a1raceworks.com/

Overall everything went together great. I did change out a few things....a new steering wheel and air cleaner from Ron C**n.

Not a lot of parts so it went together quick, and should look great in the case.
