Finally got the Butch Lindley Pontiac Sportsman car finished up. Whew...this one fought me every step of the way.... So many things went wrong, all self induced mind you! lol
And so many things I wish I could change or do over, but I got to the point I just wanted to see it finished and off my bench. Overall it came out pretty cool, I was just super frustrated with it, and my work on it. But you will have that, not every kit is a dream build.
Thanks for checking it out, and now on to something much "bigger"!

I've been trying to make progress on the Butch Lindley Sportsman project lately, but man this thing has fought me every step of the way!
It has come so close to going back in the box I don't know how many times! But I think I can see the finish line finally.
I ended up using Tamiya TS86 for the red, and Omni clear. I had to mask off and spray the headlight covers....and I got the foil work done. Once I get the front windshield figured out I can start the decals. Which should go quick, this car was pretty sparse for decals.
Hopefully I can wrap this one up soon!

I haven't had much free time lately to do much modeling, but I do have something cool to share!
I've got a long stalled Nance sprint car project that needed an accurate hood. I just haven't had time to mess with it, so my son decided to tackle designing one for me, and did an incredible job on it! We made a few tweaks to it, but it came out great. 3D printed in gray resin, and the finish is outstanding.
I've got it mocked up here on my brass Jensen Const. Nance chassis, but with a bit of sanding and trimming, it should work for Monogram chassis as well.
I had a few extras run off, and they are up on my ebay page if interested!
He's also working on a vintage style fuel cell as well that should be done soon. Now i have no excuses to not get back to work on this one! :)

Been uploading some new sheets to my eBay page. Some old stuff, a few new Powerslide sheets, and the brand new PT 1990 Ricky Rudd Levi Garrett Lumina sheet. This one turned out awesome. Includes full color placement sheet to boot!

Finished up the Kyle Larson dirt Late model project. This was a full 3D printed kit by https://a1raceworks.com/
Overall everything went together great. I did change out a few things....a new steering wheel and air cleaner from Ron C**n.
Not a lot of parts so it went together quick, and should look great in the case.
Thanks for looking!

Pretty cool write up from the NNL East this year! This gentleman talked to Jay and I for quite a while about the show and our models.
Give it a read!

Quick little side project I started on this week....I picked up this 3D printed late model kit from A-1 Raceworks and have been having a blast with it so far. Very clean printing, low parts count... a perfect little "get something done quick" type of build.
I am making a few changes, I swapped out the air cleaner and steering wheel to some Ron C**n items. And I ground down the RF tire to get the crazy camber these cars have. Added a few cage bars as well. All the black is Mr. Hobby black primer. Awesome stuff. And I tried out the Fusion chrome from Amazon for the wheels and wheel covers. Stuff looks pretty cool!

Just about got the interior wrapped up on the Lindley LMS.....I didn't want to go crazy and add a bunch of unnecessary stuff in there because these cars were probably pretty sparse back then.
I scratch built/sculpted the drivers floor pad from some magic-sculpt, painted it and weathered it a bit. I used Jaye's roll bar padding, water jug, and steering column. The seat was a modified Monogram kit piece with Gofer hardware. Body is ready for paint, and once I get it shot and cleared, I should be wrapping this one up soon!

If anyone is looking for some old 1/25 Flashpoint resin Pro Mod bodies for models or slot cars. I put up a lot of five different bodies on my e b a y page today!

One of the other projects I have been messing with lately, is a replica of Butch Lindley's #16 late 70's Pontiac bodied LMS car.
I started with a Salvino LeMans kit, then added a resin nose from Luka Cee, it was pushed back, and I shortened the hood as well.
Other body mods were cutting out the roof posts, enlarging and flaring the rear fenders, and raking the roof down slightly. Which then in turn meant the entire top of the roll cage needed rebuilt with .080 rod. I think I may have shortened the doors up as well to get the whole car lower.
New front fender humps were added with some cheap, plastic kitchen spoons. They had the perfect shape!
I'm also using an awesome set of these diamond hole rims from Ron C**n resins.
I am just about ready to get some primer on, and see just how much more body work I have to do, but so far it has been a fun little project!
