IMC Heads Up!
Beatles fans, just when you thought the vault had finally been emptied... think again.
On October 2, 2026, Rubber Soul returns in a stunning new expanded edition. Newly mixed by Giles Martin and engineer Sam Okell, the release includes brand-new stereo and Dolby Atmos mixes, along with the original mono mix and the original U.S. Capitol album version.
The deluxe set also digs deep into the sessions, featuring 24 early recordings, including 20 previously unreleased takes, three previously unheard home demos, and the classic double A-side singles "Day Tripper" and "We Can Work It Out."
The biggest surprise? A track titled "Little Girl," described as a previously unheard John Lennon song outline that has never been released—or even rumored to exist—until now.
Using state-of-the-art de-mixing technology developed by the award-winning audio team led by Emile de la Rey at Peter Jackson's WingNut Films Productions, the recordings have been restored with remarkable clarity while remaining faithful to the spirit of the original performances.
Collectors will want to grab the 4CD or 5LP Super Deluxe Editions, which include an 88-page hardbound book featuring a brand-new foreword by Paul McCartney.
The expanded editions arrive October 2, 2026, and fans can already preview "Michelle (Take 1)," which is available to stream now. I really dig this stripped-down version!
The announcement won't come as a complete surprise to many Beatles fans, however. After yesterday's cryptic teaser sparked widespread speculation, plenty of eagle-eyed followers correctly guessed that a Rubber Soul deluxe edition was just around the corner!

Phil Collins, No Jacket Required - 1985, 1986 LP of The Year!
Featuring guest backing vocalists, including Helen Terry, Peter Gabriel and Sting. Some of the songs, like "Don't Lose My Number" and "Sussudio", were based around improvisation. Other songs, like "Long Long Way to Go", had a political message. "One More Night", "Sussudio", "Don't Lose My Number", and "Take Me Home" were all released as singles, with corresponding music videos. All four singles were top ten hits, with "Sussudio" and "One More Night" reaching number one. The three singles that were released in the UK all reached the top 20 on the UK charts.
Phil Collins went through the commercial thing here with 1985's "No Jacket Required,". It definitely placed Phil as one of the 80's most popular artists. The radio hits: "Sussudio," "One More Night," "Don't Lose My Number," and "Take Me Home," all of them signature Phil songs, but the album also shines with it's songs that were not released as singles, such as "Only You Know And I Know," "I Don't Wanna Know," "Who Said I Would," "Doesn't Anybody Stay Together Anymore," and the awesome, "Inside Out," quite possibly the best song from the album, and my personal favorite! Phil lightens it up a bit on 3 songs, the beautiful hit ballad "One More Night," the spacious "Long Long Way To Go" (featuring Sting on background vocals), and the amazing CD-only track, "We Said Hello Goodbye,". Phil's songwriting, vocals and musical talents are incredible, and the production work by Phil & Hugh Padgham is really great.

What a great find this long-lost album is!!!
The Western Front was a project by Supertramp guitarist/producer Marty Walsh and Thin Lizzy guitarist Scott Gorham to create a supergroup in the vein of Toto, Boston, Foreigner, and Survivor. They were joined by Derek Bergmann (keyboards), Moon Calhoun (vocals), and Darrell Verdusco (drums). The project began in 1983 and wrapped up in 1984, but despite a deal with Atlantic Records, the album was never released.
Forty years later, this album is finally being released on the Mascot label thanks to a recommendation from Steve Lukather.
The Western Front LP “Eureka” features 12 songs, including “1000 Nights,” a track familiar to fans of the Michael Thompson Band’s 1988 album “How Long.” The arrangements are different, but the singer is the same extraordinary Moon Calhoun whom classic rock fans discovered on the 1980 album “The STRAND,” produced by Jeff Porcaro.
A BIG THANK YOU to the labels that are taking the initiative to bring these lost treasures to life for the enjoyment of all lovers of this music. Without them, albums by TIM (Bruce Gaitsch, Tom Griffin), CHICAGO’s “Stone of Sisyphus,” Mr. MISTER’s “Pull,” Don BARNES's "Ride The Storm" and so many others would have remained unknown.

IMC heads up album of the day
“Love Stories” by Frank McComb (2000)
Frank McComb's Love Stories ,released 26 years ago, is one of neo-soul's most underrated masterpieces—a stunning debut that seamlessly blends soul, jazz, gospel, and R&B into a deeply heartfelt musical journey. Produced alongside Branford Marsalis, the album showcases McComb's extraordinary gifts as a singer, pianist, songwriter, and arranger, with nearly every song penned by McComb himself. His emotionally rich vocals, often compared to the great Donny Hathaway and Stevie Wonder, are matched by sophisticated musicianship and timeless songwriting. Though it never received the commercial support it deserved, Love Stories has endured as a cult classic, cherished by discerning music lovers for its authenticity, warmth, and unwavering celebration of love in its purest form.
Check this masterpiece out on streaming platforms, or even better…Buy the CD.
