Heavy rains are indeed a chicken emergency! Because our chickens are out on pasture, it’s not completely flat and they are not completely enclosed in a barn. If left out in the water, they could all die from being too cold. It’s so important to act quickly and check their environment. Gotta love Oklahoma weather!

Storms also show us where we need to improve our coop designs. Seeing how the water pooled on the tarp showed us we need to attach it differently. Everyday is a learning experience!
