The Downtown Fall Gallery Walk returns this Friday, October 2, from 5:00–8:00 p.m. The free, self-guided event brings together 18 downtown shops, galleries, and museums, creating an evening-long opportunity to experience local and regional art while exploring the district. Exhibitions throughout the route feature a diverse range of work, including ceramics, printmaking, photography, textiles, book arts, mixed media, and more.

Gallery Walk continues to serve as a connection point between Iowa City’s creative community and its downtown business district, encouraging visitors to discover independent businesses, meet artists, and spend time throughout the district. Attendees can pick up a Gallery Walk card at any participating location and enter to win a $50 Beadology Iowa gift card by visiting and getting their card punched at seven or more venues. With this being the final Gallery Walk of 2026, the event offers one more opportunity this year to experience downtown’s vibrant arts and cultural scene while supporting the businesses and organizations that make the district a destination.

Yes, we can create custom jewelry pieces at Glassando. Sometimes, it is hard to know what that means so I thought i would show an example.

This client had a set of sentimental cuff-links. She did not want them to just set in a drawer, but didn't really wear cufflinks often. So, we made them into earrings. Now she can wear them more!

This ring was custom made for a client who wanted to reuse a diamond from an engagement ring. However, she did not want the ring to look like an engagement ring. We decided to go for a mid-century modern look with bold colors and simple lines. We added birthstones of loved one to make the piece more colorful as well as meaningful.
