One Box Challenge

Two days left to rise to the challenge. Are you up for it? What is missing from this changing table? Can you help? Next month's challenge will be a much lower cost and possibly a no cost challenge for some. Can you put a little more toward the September Challenge?

Running errands today? Can you add a box of diapers to your cart? We are still in need of another 730 diapers to match the number of diapers we collected last time. Can we meet this challenge? Say it out loud with me...."YES WE CAN!" Let's rise to this difficult challenge for all those who rise each morning without the resources they need to keep their babies clean and dry with basic necessities like diapers. I am willing to do an extra porch pick up this Tuesday if there is anyone out there who would still like to help, but can't drop off. DM me and I will be there! Let's flex our collective muscle and reach this goal! Every bit helps!

1,494 in the 2nd trip to Open Heartland this week. This may look like a lot of diapers, but the need far surpasses this. Last time we collected diapers we were able to donate 7,138. Please help us pass this bar with this month's challenge!!!! We are about a thousand short of that goal. Still 5 days left in September. WE CAN DO IT, with your help!!!

Day cares will often require disposable diapers be provided by the parents? Another barrier to child care and employment for low income families.
Even though porch pick ups were yesterday, we are still collecting through the end of the month. You can still drop off or have your donation delivered. Pictured is the donation of 1,130 diapers loaded up to bring to the CommUnity Crisis Services tomorrow. Also delivered 1,180 diapers and 1,148 wipes to Open Heartland directly after porch pick ups yesterday! Several stacks in my home to be delivered next week, so let's keep'em comming!

The bulk buying barrier: Buying larger boxes lowers the per-diaper price, but low-income families often cannot afford the higher upfront cost and must buy smaller, more expensive packs. Low-income families also cannot afford the membership fees for bulk buy stores like Costco and Sam’s.
If you once had to buy diapers, but no longer need to, could you afford a box for someone in need today? There are so many barriers to diapers for families in need. 🚧🚧
One Box is working to help reduce barriers to smaller donations because collectively we can make an impact. We will pick up your partial pack of diapers from your front porch if needed. Everything is more expensive lately and a lot of us might be feeling the pinch, but can we find it our budgets to help the most vulnerable in our community? Can you contribute wipes if not diapers? Just one box from you could make the difference between a good night sleep next week for a very tired baby and parent who are feeling the pinch even more. 💸

Did you know....
Diaper need is strongly linked to higher rates of maternal depression and emotional distress. Imagine the heartbreak of a parent who hears their baby crying in pain and discomfort from sitting in a wet or soiled diaper—but cannot afford a clean one.

Cloth diapers may be great for the environment, but not for a family with no washer and no money for the expensive upfront cost of cloth diapers AND most laundry mats don’t allow you to wash soiled diapers. We are still collecting diapers for this month's challenge and boy is is a CHALLENGE. This is a big one and we need all hands on deck. Please help spread the word. Buy a box with a friend to help reduce your cost. Hy-Vee has a good Fuel Saver deal this week if you buy diapers there. We take opened packages too! Know a kiddo who has outgrown a size? We'll take the leftovers!
