The world doesn’t need another reflection of itself. It needs people whose lives reveal the hope and love of Jesus Christ.
Let the way you love, serve, forgive, and live give others a glimpse of the radiant goodness of God.
“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden. Neither do people light a lamp and put it under a bowl. Instead they put it on its stand, and it gives light to everyone in the house. In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” (Matthew 5:14-16)

Caring for others can be deeply meaningful, and deeply costly. ❤️
When you’re a pastor or shepherd, you may carry disappointments few people see: prayers that seem unanswered, people you’ve loved who leave, ministry that doesn’t grow the way you hoped, or the quiet exhaustion of continuing to show up for others.
Jesus sees what others may overlook. And the Good Shepherd who has called you to care for his sheep wants to care for your soul, too.
In this week’s episode of Soul Talks, Bill shares a special meditation on Jesus’ Beatitudes for pastors and shepherds, offering encouragement and strength for those who spend their lives caring for others.

Jesus wasn’t emotionless.
He wept. He rejoiced. He burned with righteous anger. He felt compassion. He admitted sorrow.
And this matters for you.
Your emotions are part of how you reflect God’s image, and they’re places where Jesus meets you with empathy.
Too often, we repress our emotions, thinking it’s more “spiritual” to be calm, strong, and unaffected.
But that’s not the example Jesus gives us.
He shows us that emotional honesty is a pathway to deeper intimacy with God and others.
Friend, your emotions don’t make you a bad Christian. They are invitations—open doors to encounter Jesus’ love in a personal way.
You don’t have to hide what you feel. Jesus welcomes all of you and calls you deeply loved.
That’s what we unpack in our book Deeply Loved. It will guide you to meet Jesus in your emotions, receive his empathy, and grow into someone who carries his love into every relationship.

You don’t have to rush through this season to get to the good part.
Some of the most important growth in your life with Jesus may be happening right now.
Waiting has a way of bringing what’s beneath the surface into the light. Your desire for control. Your impatience with God’s timing. Your questions about his goodness. Your longing to know what comes next.
And Jesus can use all of it to grow deeper, stronger roots in you.
As you keep turning toward him, trust can deepen. Surrender can become a little easier. Your heart can soften. You can learn to depend on his presence even when your circumstances remain uncertain.
You may not see this growth happening day by day. Roots grow underground where no one can see them.
But one day, you may look back and realize that while you were waiting for something to happen, Jesus was quietly forming you into someone who knows and trusts him more deeply. 🤍
