We are proud to celebrate an incredible milestone as Gary Broshuis marks 50 years of service with Seneca Companies, an OWL™ Services Affiliated Company.

Our Des Moines team recently gathered for a special breakfast to recognize Gary's dedication and outstanding contributions over the past five decades. Throughout his career, Gary has been a cornerstone of our construction team, helping drive our success through his leadership, industry expertise and the strong relationships he has built along the way.

Thank you, Gary, for your hard work, commitment and the lasting impact you have made on our company, customers and colleagues. Your legacy is truly remarkable, and we are honored to celebrate this milestone with you.

According to OSHA, 70% of forklift accidents are preventable with standard safety measures.

Here are the top causes of forklift accidents and how to prevent them:

1️⃣ Tip-overs
→ Slow down on turns, balance loads and never exceed capacity
2️⃣ Pedestrian collisions
→ Stay alert, follow speed limits, use lights/alarms and keep clear zones
3️⃣ Falling loads
→ Secure and center loads, avoid sudden movements and inspect forks
4️⃣ Workers riding forks
→ Never lift people with forklifts, always use proper equipment
5️⃣ Emissions exposure
→ Ensure proper ventilation, limit idling and maintain equipment

Hoot’s Who at OWL™ Services: Meet Michael Lucio, a Field Service Technician in Lubbock, TX who has been with OWL for four years. One thing Michael loves about his job is that he’s, “part of a reliable, hardworking team and grateful for the relationships and experiences that have made this career rewarding and fulfilling.” One of his biggest achievements is training and mentoring new employees by sharing his expertise and leading by example in the field. Outside of work, Michael loves to work out, spend quality time with his kids, create content and take on home improvement / DIY projects. He also enjoys traveling and exploring new places with family. His favorite quote is, "The greatest legacy a man can leave isn't money, it's the example he sets for his children."
