We're heading to Chicago this month. Our CEO Matthew Harvey Sanders is speaking at the Catholic Partnership Summit, alongside Alex Jones of the prayer app Hallow and Sr. Raffaella Petrini, head of the Governorate of Vatican City State. Bishops, diocesan leaders and religious will spend two days on one question: how the Church should use AI.

Leadership Roundtable's flagship gathering, October 20 and 21 at Loyola University Chicago.

Our CEO Matthew Harvey Sanders joined OSV News on the question of how fast AI should be built.

He takes the argument for pacing seriously. What he is cautious about is the shape it takes: rules handed down from outside the field are harder to check and easier to get wrong than the labs meeting regularly and reviewing each other's work.

Worth talking about. Worth getting right.

"The last mile of evangelization has to be witness. It has to be example."

That's our founder Matthew Harvey Sanders in the National Catholic Reporter this week, on what no AI can do for a person's faith.

Our thanks to NCR for the coverage, and to Ana Catarina de Alencar of The AI Collective, whose report on how people are turning to AI for spiritual guidance prompted the story.

Our advisor Fr. Michael Baggot makes the complementary point in the piece: a real guide welcomes you, and then tells you when you are wrong.

We're in this week's Economist!

Thanks to The Economist for highlighting the work we're doing, and for taking seriously the question of what happens to faith as AI reshapes how people look for meaning.

Two of our own on the BBC World Service this week.

Fr. Michael Baggot, from our scholarly advisory board, and Longbeard CEO Matthew Harvey Sanders both turn up in 'The Vatican's AI battle'. Matthew gets into the digitisation work we are doing with the Pontifical Universities in Rome, the groundwork that makes Catholic AI possible in the first place.

Should future priests learn to make content while they're still in formation?

Fr. Michael Kong wrote his thesis comparing TikTok and Instagram for evangelization. He has a clear answer.

Why Anthropic? Of all the AI labs in the world, why did Pope Leo XIV invite that one to the launch of his new encyclical, Magnifica Humanitas?

Matthew Harvey Sanders, Fr. Michael Baggot & Fr. Kenny Ang take it head-on — from machine consciousness and designer babies to the transhumanist push to leave our humanity behind — all through the lens of the Pope's new encyclical on AI.

The best defense against loneliness ever built is 2,000 years old. It's the parish.

That was one of the more striking points from the panel "After Magnifica Humanitas: How Catholics Can Shape AI for Human Flourishing," which brought together voices from healthcare AI, technology, and Catholic higher education, including our CEO Matthew Harvey Sanders.

The panelists asked how digital tools, used well, might point people back toward that community rather than pull them away from it: meeting them online, and welcoming them home in person.
