Meet Peach. 🍑

Peach was found Sunday by an agricultural worker, dumped in an Eastern Washington orchard. People stepped in to keep her safe until we could get her here—and we are grateful they did.

Thankfully, Peach is not pregnant.

Peach is backyard breeder gold. Bred and bred again to make cheap puppies for bargain buyers targeted on the west side—and her body shows the toll.

At only about 4–5 years old, she has what appears to be a C-section scar and:

🐾 A horrible infection deep in her nasal folds
🐾 Wounds around her ears, head and forward body from defending herself from other breeder dogs at her BYB
🐾 One ear completely encrusted with yeast and infection
🐾 Entropion in both eyes, already affecting vision in her left we are hopefully catching in time
🐾 Severe gingival overgrowth requiring surgery
🐾 And she still needs her spay and dental

October 8 will be a very big surgical day for Peach.

Then, this girl just gets to be healthy and adored forever.

When you buy a “purebred” or designer puppy for a fraction of what a responsible breeder charges, ask yourself why it's so cheap.

Cash rolled into Pacific Rim Rescue with 67 pounds of Catahoula swagger, a spectacular curly tail, movie-star markings and absolutely no idea how you’re supposed to chew a chew - but, it's darn cute!

The biggest win: Surprisingly snuggly for a man in black. 🖤

Because underneath all that swagger, Cash is a cuddler. This big, striking dude loves settling in with his foster dad when the day is done.

Cash has already had more than one life. He started as a street dog in Texas, where neighbors threatened to shoot loose dogs before rescuers got him to safety. He made his way to Washington and found a family who loved him—until serious allergies with their children forced the heartbreaking decision to let him go.

So Cash is starting over. Again.

And this time, we already know what a good boy he is: at just 2 years old, he’s playful. He’s ready to go places and do things. And he’s good with dogs big and small—and even cats. He’d love an active home for adventures, exploring and play, followed by a couch with someone willing to accept that 67 pounds is technically a lap dog.

🥁DRUM ROLL PLEASE!!! INTRODUCING INDIA'S LIL' "HOP" FAMILY!!!

Last week we posted a few candid photos of India's LABOR DAY....on Labor Day7️⃣!!

And, for those of you who have been following our little Hop Orchard 🍃 crew, we first introduced you to 1-1/2 yo India and a 6 month old puppy we assume is from her first litter.

Like India and West, we named the new crew also in the "Ale Inspired" 🍺theme.

Meet:

🤎1st born: Lucille, a gorgeous brown black pup with white little toesies!

🤍2nd born: Stella, a light little sparkle in our hearts

🤍3rd born: Bodhi(zafa), a boy with light, almost white coloring

They all started out at just under a half a pound at birth and today all are now over a pound - doubling in just a week! India started her birthing at 14.7 lbs and was down to 12.5 lbs after giving birth. This is probably very close to her regular weight to give you an idea on size. We believe her to be a Brussels Griffon mix.

We don't know who dad is, it could be the same father as West had -truly we don't know. But we know that India is a very, very good mama!! She takes the best care of her babies and they are hitting every milestone 🐾so far!

If you are interested in applying to adopt India, Lucille, Stella or Bodhi, they will be ready to go home on November 2nd. We will collect applications and not review them until the last two weeks in October.

Raking leaves? She’ll watch, but might also jump right into the pile.
Decorating for the holidays? Obviously helping.
Football and house chores? Sounds like a pretty great weekend.

Amelia has the brains and athleticism you love in a Cattle Dog—with an off switch. She loves other dogs, loves being busy and having something to do, and really just wants to be your sidekick. (Um… Heeler. 😉)

Will she herd your kids and other pets? Absolutely.
But we know… sometimes they absolutely need it. 😉

And somehow, this smart, funny, well-balanced girl hasn't received one fully qualified application in EIGHT MONTHS!

❤️ KEV — TWO WEEKS LATER.

Two weeks ago, Kev hid from us.

Today, he has taken big steps toward trusting the people around him — seeking affection, giving kisses and stretching out in the sunshine for a nap. ☀️

The photo of our directors hand after her first good session of pets and scratches, and skin - shows the soot from the wildfire that took his home.

Kev is a 3 yo Lab-Rhodesian mix (we think), an extremely gentle, potty-trained boy with calm house manners who rides well in the car once he has time to settle. He's learning to meld into his foster's pack, reads other dogs cues and responds well. He enjoys harvesting (read eating) cherry tomatoes with the other dogs 🍅

But Kev is still guarded.

Loud voices and sounds scare him. A sharp “NO!” — even when it isn't directed at him — makes him retreat. He needs calm, patience and reassurance that he's safe.

The leash is still hard. Kev spent his former life tied up, so he backs away and tries to avoid it — never aggressively.

To Kev, being leashed still carries the fear that he might be tied up and left there indefinitely.

We think he'll learn leash skills. But think gentle work over months, not weeks.

And look what just two calming weeks have already given us. ❤️ A dogs willingness to forgive humans always takes our breath away....

Now Kev needs a gentle foster home to continue this upward path — or a forever home willing to walk it with him. For Kev, we would absolutely consider foster-to-adopt.

Give him time to settle. Let trust come at his pace.

He is who he is: a cautious, incredibly gentle boy learning that humans can be safe — and he is VERY worthy of the effort. ❤️

Of all the days.

Our very pregnant little India apparently looked at the calendar this morning and said “I’m IN"

- but, give me a few more hours to bake these muffins to perfection!

Like clockwork 🕝 India is in LABOR. 🐾❤️

For now, we’re giving this sweet mama all the quiet, space and support she needs to do her thing. No puppy introductions just yet — there will be plenty of time for adorable puppy pics and names.

Today belongs to India. ❤️

We’ll share more when Mama is finished, settled and has had some well-earned rest.
