A Walk to Freedom Counseling supports people navigating recovery in Auburn, and we’re glad they’re joining us as a Community Connection Sponsor of Harness New Heights!

Their team offers drug and alcohol assessments, outpatient treatment, relapse prevention, and aftercare. It’s work that meets people in the day-to-day parts of recovery, and it means a lot to have them supporting an event that brings our community together.

What a great way to spend the last official weekend of summer!

- Granite Mountain Fire Lookout: We completed our 4th Fire Lookout hike of the season! After last month’s hike was canceled because of fires and smoke, it felt especially good to get back out there. We couldn’t have asked for a better day...it was sunny, warm, and filled with incredible views and vibrant fall colors along the trail🤩

- 4th of July Pass Backpacking Trip: A small but mighty group also headed to Fourth of July Pass near the North Cascades for a backpacking trip. It was a beautiful place to set up camp, enjoy time together, and spend the weekend surrounded by the mountains🏕️

- Recovery Ramblers Lake 22 Hike: The hike began on a cool, foggy morning, giving the trail and forest a peaceful, misty feel! As the group made its way toward the lake, the fog began to lift, revealing beautiful views and even some sunshine to end the day🥾

It may have been the final weekend of summer, but there are still plenty of outdoor adventures ahead! Check out our event calendar to see what’s coming next!

A proud woman in long-term recovery with more than 20 years of sobriety, Alysse is also a media maven, content creator, and longtime advocate for the recovery community.

With over 25 years of experience in media, including nearly a decade with Seattle Met and six years at KING 5, Alysse has built a career around storytelling, connection, and bringing people together.

We’re so excited to have The Sober Curator herself with us on October 2 as our community comes together for Harness New Heights!

Meet Peter!

Peter joined Recovery Beyond looking for something he was missing in his recovery: a community that shared his love for the outdoors.
Since then, he has built meaningful connections, found cycling buddies, and accomplished a longtime goal—leading our Spicy Cycling Team from Seattle to Portland. Now, he’s taking on a new challenge: rappelling at Harness New Heights!

September is Recovery Month, and we’re celebrating with a full calendar of exciting events💜

After the difficult cancellation of Camp RB, we’re especially grateful for the opportunities we have to come together this month—including two service days! We’ll be supporting runners at aid stations during the Cascade Express Marathon and joining EarthCorps for a park restoration project in Snohomish County!🌱

We’ll also head near the North Cascades for another backpacking adventure and gather at the Renton Library for screenings of A New High and Walking on Ice!!🎬

And to close out the month… Recovery Day at the Mariners on September 27! ⚾️🎉 Join us at T-Mobile Park for a day celebrating recovery, community, connection, and baseball!
