At our September 16th general meeting, the 5th LD Dems voted on our latest round of endorsements.

🎉 Congratulations to Judge Jaime Hawk who has been endorsed by the 5th LD Dems for WA State Supreme Court, Pos. 3.

We also endorsed:

❌ NO on Initiative 645 in order to maintain the recently-enacted “Millionaires Tax” including its funding for schools, health care, and child care and its tax cuts for small businesses, working families, and essential household items.

✅ YES on the Issaquah Park Bond Renewal. Same levy rate; $24M for trails, sports fields, and park upgrades.

✅ YES on Kent School District Prop 1. It renews an expiring levy that fills the gap between state funding and what our students need.

✅ YES on the Auburn School District Bond. It builds new schools for an overcrowded district that relies on dozens of portable classrooms.

We’re just over three weeks away from the next No Kings!

October 17 will be the biggest early vote activation in American history. This is how we build a nationwide movement ready to activate at the first hint of election sabotage.

WA voters:
Three statewide initiatives are on the ballot this November, and the stakes are real.
Vote NO on I-645, I-001, and I-638 to stand up for fair taxes, student privacy, and all of our students' safety.

📣 The 5th Dems Board is honored to recognize Beth Ferandin Bazley as our Volunteer of the Month! 🎉🙌

"Beth is one of those rare people who gives it all. With Beth you don’t worry about her following through, you worry about her taking on too much. The King County Dems Chair is a big job. Given the task of being the Chair of the King County Dems you would have expected Beth to curb her involvement with the 5th LD Dems, but not so with her. She has remained active with the 5th Dems and is still active with Board Meetings, General Meetings, our Endorsement Committee and has taken leadership with the Events Team. Beth is smart, hardworking, and welcoming to all. If you’ve received one of her hugs, you know what I mean. Beth finds meaning in giving to others. We are blessed to have her." 💙

Let’s Go Washington, a conservative political group sponsored by multimillionaire Brian Heywood, is running three initiatives in 2026 that would directly impact our students, school communities, and working families. The 5th LD Dems have endorsed a “No” vote for all three initiatives.

-NO to Dividing Parents and Educators on Parental Rights (IL26-001)
This initiative would remove common sense protections for at risk students while worsening the student mental health crisis. Vote No.

-NO to Restricting School Sports (IL26-638)
This initiative would create the most extreme sports ban in the country and add additional barriers to participation for female students only. Vote No.

-NO to Repealing the Millionaires Tax (IL26-645)
This initiative would give a tax cut to millionaires while cutting billions in funding for education, healthcare and childcare. Vote No.
