Last month, JRA CEO Alex Lawson and Community Development Manager Valerie Clark traveled to Washington, D.C., to represent JRA and the City of Jackson at the National Association for Local Housing Finance Agencies (NALHFA) Fall Educational Summit.

Lawson joined housing leaders from across the country as a featured speaker on “New Horizons for Public Land Housing Development,” sharing a powerful message: Public Land is Public Capital.

With thousands of publicly owned and tax-forfeited properties, former school sites, and undeveloped land throughout Jackson, JRA is focused on transforming underutilized properties into opportunities for housing, neighborhood revitalization, and economic growth.

We’re not just looking at what these properties are today. We’re envisioning what they can become for Jackson’s future!

On September 28, JRA was pleased to join Ward 7 neighborhood leaders for a day of conversation, connection, and collaboration.

Thank you to Councilman Kevin Parkinson for organizing these quarterly meetings and for including JRA in important conversations about Jackson’s neighborhoods. We also appreciate the opportunity for the National Folk Festival to share what’s ahead for Jackson this November!
