Occupational therapy extended passed the walls today. We talked about using a calculator while making purchases to help understand how much Alijah would need to spend. As well as, if he would have any money left over. We took the classroom and therapy to Walmart! The self checkout associate was very patient with us.

We've been busy! Our microschoolers took part in their Saturday elective class. They are currently learning through S.T.E.A.M activities about property redevelopment projects. The scholars walked the property, learned the history of the property, learned about protected trees, and plant life using Google Lens. Now, the scholars have been tasked to draw out plans for the property. The dry creek bed pictured below runs through the City of Jackson and under a building in Jackson.

Today, we honored International Dot Day. We tied the story The Dot into a STEM Challenge. Our microschoolers are very artistic! One of our scholars took "art" to a different level with the videography skills he learned this summer. Scholars were challenged to build as many structures as they could using Dot candy and toothpicks.
Structure #1: The Star
Structure: #2: The House
Structure: #3: A House within a House
