Creating a list of terms used to describe the new position of the believer/disciple in scripture. Here's my list- can you think of others?

citizen of heaven
alien and stranger
bride adorned for husband
born of God
Ambassador of God
Chosen generation
Holy nation
Royal Priesthood
God's own possession

The sermon is about Salt and Light. I am creating a list as a cause for celebration- God has drawn a distinction between who we are and who we used to be!

The condition upon which God has given liberty to man is eternal vigilance; which condition if he break, servitude is at once the consequence of his crime and the punishment of his guilt. -John Philpot Curran (1750-1817)

The one taste of paradise on this earth is to fight in a losing cause and then not lose.
G. K. Chesterton

Christianity has died many times but this should not distress us at all- for we worship a God who knows the way out of the grave.

"Remember, the most perfect machinery of government will not keep us as a nation from destruction if there is not within us a soul."
-Theodore Roosevelt, 1917

Just watched an incredible video series
(each video is around 6 minutes long). It is a presentation of the issues of our age. Each presenter is short, clear, and engaging. Discussion notes for further reflection are also available as well direction to additional resources from the speakers. Kudos to Jason Yates and the team at My Faith Votes for putting this together. It is light without heat, correctly targeted to the needs of our day, well-chosen speakers, well-edited and presented. Wish everyone would watch it- not just the church but for anyone who wants to know why Christians think like they do. Here are the topics:
Thinking Biblically about worldview with Albert Mohler
Thinking Biblically about Justice with Voddie Baucham
Thinking Biblically about Sexuality with Christopher Yuan
Thinking Biblically about Socialism with Todd Wagner
Thinking Biblically about Sanctity of Life with Abby Johnson
Thinking Biblically about Politics with Jeff Myers

Think Biblically | Stand Firm in Your Faith A video series by leading faith experts to help Christians stand firm in their beliefs on pressing cultural and political issues.
