MS Food Network

🧡 Different departments. Different roles. Different shades of orange. ONE mission. 🧡

Whether we looked like Texas fans, Tennessee fans, or hunters headed straight to the woods 😂, Team MFN showed up in ORANGE for Hunger Action Month!

And just like all those different shades of orange, fighting hunger takes all of us. From Operations keeping things moving, Community Impact working alongside our partner agencies, Development building relationships and support, Accounting keeping us on track, Food Procurement helping keep food coming in, and Leadership guiding the way—every department plays a part in serving our Mississippi neighbors.

Hunger doesn’t look the same for every person or family, and neither does the work it takes to fight it. But when we bring our different talents, roles, and yes… shades of orange together, we are one team of hunger fighters. 💪🧡

Because no one in Mississippi should be hungry.

There’s still time to make a difference for Hunger Action Month every time you shop at Kroger.

Shop and Fight Hunger this Saturday, September 26th at JCPenney - Flowood, MS and Ridgeland, MS! 1 canned item will get you 10% off your purchase. YOU can make a difference when you shop this Saturday!

🧡 Orange is the color of hunger—and this Hunger Action Month, it’s also the color of ACTION!

There are so many ways to make a difference, and one of the most powerful is giving your time. Whether you come on your own, bring a friend, or gather a group, every box packed and every hour volunteered helps Mississippi Food Network provide food for our neighbors across the state.

📦 Pack food.
🧡 Serve together.
🙌 Make a difference.

🚌 Something exciting is rolling our way!

Thanks to Mississippi Farm Bureau Federation and the Mississippi Farm Bureau Foundation for Agriculture, Mississippi Food Network will soon have a new mobile market bus helping us bring food and hope to communities across our service area.

But there’s one thing this bus is still missing… a name!

We have three favorites:
🌾 Harvest of Hope (“Harvey”)
🚜 Farm to Family Connection
🌱 The Magnolia Mobile

Now we want to hear from YOU! Which name do you like best? Drop your favorite in the comments. 👇

🍊 Orange you glad you’re a volunteer?! 🍊

Saturdays are for volunteering—and we had a BLAST! 🧡🙌

Our amazing volunteers spent Saturday morning packing food for our Mississippi neighbors, and together, we packed more than 85,000 meals in just 3 hours! 🎉📦

A HUGE thank you to Kroger for donating the mandarins and helping make our “Orange You Glad You’re a Volunteer?” day extra sweet (and delicious! 🍊).

Want to join the fun? Our next volunteer opportunity is October 10! Come roll up your sleeves, make a difference, and have a little fun while you’re at it. 💪🧡

Let's pack, sort, and fight hunger together. See you Saturday!

Great things are not built alone. Ending hunger takes all of us: neighbors, advocates, volunteers, donors, farmers and community partners coming together with a shared purpose.

This Hunger Action Month, we're asking you to find your part. Whether you give, volunteer, speak up or support your community in another way, your action matters.

When we connect our efforts, small actions become part of something bigger: a movement building a system that feeds millions.

Ending hunger requires assembly. Your action is the missing piece.

Donate. Volunteer. Speak Up.

Jackson is facing a growing challenge when it comes to access to affordable, nutritious food. Stories like this remind us that food access is about more than having a grocery store nearby—it’s about making sure our neighbors have the food they need.

The Mississippi Food Network is working every day to help bridge that gap by providing food to communities across Mississippi through its network of food pantries, community organizations, and partners.

We’re proud to be part of the solution and committed to helping ensure that no Mississippian has to wonder where their next meal will come from. 💙

Jackson neighborhoods are losing grocery stores, and city leaders are looking to farmers and new partnerships to help fill the gap. FULL STORY ⬇️

We’re so grateful for longtime partner Woodforest National Bank their continued support of the Mississippi Food Network Backpack Program! 💙

Because of partners like Woodforest National Bank, Mississippi children can head home for the weekend with nutritious food in their backpacks helping them focus on being kids instead of worrying about where their next meal will come from.

Thank you, Woodforest National Bank, for standing with us and helping us provide nourishment and hope, one backpack at a time!🎒💙
