We're excited to welcome wurmworks to the Genuine MS® family! This Jackson-based family farm has spent the past eight years turning kitchen scraps into nutrient-rich vermicompost with the help of earthworms, while also growing a variety of plant starts for home gardeners.

You can find Wurmworks at both the Genuine MS® Farmers Market at the Brandon Amphitheater and the Mississippi Farmers Market in Jackson, making it easy to shop their locally made gardening products while supporting a small Mississippi business. From vermicompost to potting mix, their work is a great reminder that what we might consider waste, can have a second life in the garden!

The Midtown Table is a community story gathering—and we’re pulling up a chair for you.

Join us around the table to share stories about food, family, culture, neighborhood, and place. Bring a story, memory, or experience of your own—or simply come ready to listen and connect.

The stories and themes shared around the table will also help inspire our Made in Midtown Creative Fellows as they create new work and content rooted in the people and experiences of our community.

Applications are open for the Made in Midtown: FLEET Creative Fellowship.

Six emerging creatives will spend six months documenting the people, places, and foodways of this neighborhood. They will work with two Creative Mentors, community partners, and neighbors to build three Story Collections. Each one ends with a Kitchen Conversation at the Made in Midtown Food Lab, where a guest cooks a meaningful meal and shares the story behind it with a live audience.

Everything the fellows produce goes into the Made in Midtown Digital Archive. Films, photographs, recipes, oral histories, and written stories, kept where the community can reach them.

Fellows receive a $3,600 stipend, professional mentorship, a published portfolio, and a certificate of completion.

Applications close October 2, 2026. Applicants must be 18 or older and live in the Greater Jackson metro area.
