On June 9, 1943, the legendary Memphis Belle completed its 25th combat mission, becoming only the second B-17 Flying Fortress to survive a full tour over Nazi-occupied Europe. With 13 .50-caliber machine guns, four 1,200-horsepower Wright Cyclone engines, and a crew of 10, it faced missions few bombers ever returned from. Yet its greatest twist came after the war, when the celebrated aircraft was nearly scrapped before an extraordinary rescue saved it from disappearing forever.

From our Chapter President Wade Kellogg:
Our BD-5 project requires manual labor. Please come on Saturday, the 18th, at 10:00 at the EAA building to clean and prep it for painting. The plane is in our work room and the wings have been placed on the work bench. Thinking 1000 - 1200.
Ken Millard met with one of our wrap vendors, and received a quote of $4400 for the completed work. Juan or our chapter cannot afford that, so we have decided to clean and paint it ourselves. We can then get a more reasonable decal or wrap. Three companies have been contacted and are interested in providing decals. Once painted, we will get some bids and make decisions.
