🚫 Myth: An AED can accidentally shock someone who doesn't need it.

✅ Fact: AEDs are designed to be incredibly safe. They will only deliver a shock if they detect a heart rhythm that requires one.

An Automated External Defibrillator (AED) analyzes the person's heart rhythm before giving any treatment. If a shock is not needed, the AED will not allow one to be delivered.

That's why you don't need to be a healthcare professional to use an AED. The device provides step-by-step instructions and guides you through the entire process.

Fear of doing something wrong can hinder bystanders from taking action during an emergency. But when someone collapses from sudden cardiac arrest, doing something is far better than doing nothing.
