We are deeply saddened by the passing of AFP FL, First Coast member Tania Yount.

Tania was a dedicated fundraising professional and valued member of our philanthropic community. Through her commitment to serving others and advancing meaningful causes, she made a lasting impact on countless lives throughout our region.

She will be remembered for her passion, generosity, and dedication to strengthening our community. Our thoughts and heartfelt condolences are with her family, friends, colleagues, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

Please join us in keeping Tania's loved ones in your thoughts during this difficult time.

Tania Yount was more than Chief Development Officer for Barnabas Center. She was a compassionate and strong leader, a dedicated professional and a remarkable person. Yesterday, with her dad by her side, Tania passed away.

Tania took pride in her work because she wanted the community to benefit from it. She never looked for accolades. Her reward was supporting Barnabas Center's mission to help people where they needed it and when they needed it most. She led the charge to transform our nutrition services program, researching and writing grants so our clients could access healthy food instead of processed sugar. Her passion helped Barnabas Center become a recognized Healthy Pantry through Feeding Northeast Florida.

It was an honor to know Tania. Northeast Florida, and especially Nassau County, is better because of her passion, her servant's heart and her unwavering dedication to others. We are grateful for the impact she made, the lives she touched and the legacy she leaves behind.

She will be deeply missed and fondly remembered.

AFP First Coast Members!

Join us Monday and Tuesday, July 20 & 21 from 8:30 - 12 noon each day to learn all about fundraising's premier designation: CFRE.

Topics to be covered: CFRE application qualifications, value of the CFRE, review of each "domain" on the exam, practice quizzes. study techniques, and advice from a recent CFRE exam taker.. Even if the CFRE is a long-term goal, the course is helpful in reviewing all aspects of fundraising - direct response, planned giving, major gifts, foundation outreach, Board roles; and leadership and management.

Here's great news! AFP Global's CFRE review class is $419! But our AFP chapter is committed to investing in YOU and is making this class available for a $10 contribution to AFP's Be the Cause. The class will be held at Jan Kary's home in Nocatee.

To confirm your participation, email Jan at [email protected].

This week, several of our AFP members traveled to Charlotte Harbour, Florida, for Planet Philanthropy—a three-day conference hosted by AFP Florida Caucus focused on sharing key fundraising best practices. A special thank you to Anthony Sutton and Heather Corey for coordinating a social gathering for AFP FL, First Coast Chapter members during the conference. It’s always wonderful to see our community supporting one another, both at home and on the road!
