Earth Works

From w**d takeover to a backyard she actually wants to use. 🌿

We cleared the w**ds, fixed the grade, and added drought tolerant plants and a rock river bed. Her own stepping stones and plants got a fresh start, too.

The perfect path starts with the right materials! 🪨✨

Our designer, Sidney, chose oversized flagstone stepping stones to create a functional walkway with plenty of natural character. Surrounding them with River Jack rock brought together the warm browns and mauve tones of the flagstone with the cool gray of the existing pool patio.

The result is a clean, cohesive transition into the backyard—without the challenge of matching brand-new pavers to the older ones already in place. Thoughtful material choices made this walkway feel like it was always meant to be there! 🌿

This well-loved pool backyard was ready for a refresh—and we brought it back to life! 🌿✨

The transformation features oversized flagstone stepping stones, fresh sod, colorful River Jack gravel, low-maintenance landscaping, improved drainage, outdoor lighting, and a sweet viburnum privacy hedge to help soften nearby street noise.

By working with existing features—including the pool, pavers, and Robellini palms—we created a cleaner, more functional outdoor space the homeowners can enjoy day or night for years to come. 💡🌴

🌴 Tropical Style, Winter Ready! ❄️

Love the look of palms but not what a Jacksonville freeze can do to them? This week on Grow Better Weekly, we’re highlighting some of our favorite cold-hardy palms that are better equipped to handle Northeast Florida winters!

🌴 Mule Palm – The big statement maker
🌴 European Fan Palm – Compact with a multi-trunk look
🌴 Windmill Palm – Slow-growing with classic fan foliage
🌿 Palmetto – Tropical palm foliage in a bushier form

Each grows a little differently, so there’s an option whether you’re looking for height, a focal point, or something lower and fuller.

Even better? We carry these palms in containers year-round at Earth Works Gardens, making them easy to grab, take home, and plant!

For this front-yard transformation, we created a colorful Florida-inspired landscape that’s beautiful, welcoming, and easy for the homeowners to maintain. We refreshed the existing liriope, then added a cold-hardy palm, lime-green foxtail ferns, and vibrant Blue My Mind for layers of tropical texture and color.

The result is a front yard that gives these Minnesota transplants the Florida feeling they dreamed of—without creating more work than they can comfortably manage.

A forever home deserves an outdoor space built to enjoy for years to come. 🌴🏡

After moving from Minnesota to Florida, these homeowners wanted to embrace the Florida lifestyle with a colorful, inviting landscape that would also be easy to maintain. We transformed their property with a beautiful water feature, an expanded paver patio, a cozy fire pit and seating wall with lighting, future privacy plantings, and plenty of Florida-friendly color and texture.

Now they have the perfect setting for peaceful mornings, evenings around the fire, and memories with family and future grandkids. Ready to transform your forever home? Contact Earth Works to schedule your consultation!
