Post office rooted in art, community, and social justice. Take care of yourself and others.
Kindred Post is a post office, gift shop, and gathering space located in the heart of downtown Juneau, Alaska. As a post office, we are committed to connecting people and taking care of our neighbors. Our gift shop is carefully curated to showcase quality, modern goods from independent artists, designers, and makers. Our gatherings give us an opportunity to build community through learning, listening, sharing, and creating together. We value hustle, we strive for social justice, and we celebrate the joy in all of this. We’re proud to be a part of Juneau’s creative economy and artistic community.

Next up for National Postcard Day: Claire Cartier and her winning design, My Icy Home. 💌
Claire is a lifelong Alaskan and artist who is constantly inspired by the place she calls home. She has been making art for years, but putting it out into the world and selling it has always felt a little intimidating.
Entering our postcard contest was a way of pushing past that hesitatio. We’re really glad she did. Now My Icy Home gets to make its way into mailboxes far beyond Alaska. 💙✈️
Here’s to sharing the work anyway, even when it feels a little scary!!

Happy National Postcard Day! 💌
Earlier this year, Nanzz (Nanzz) was one of the winners of our postcard contest, and today we’re giving them a little more space to share the work they makes beyond the postcard.
Nanzz works across digital and traditional art, character design, fiber art, crochet, sewing, doll making, and more. As someone who is chronically ill and can’t always get out to in-person events, sharing their work online gives them another way to put their art into the world and connect with new people.
We love that one of those pieces now gets to travel around as a postcard. :)
They also wanted to send some love to Bloop for help with Lalit’s design and cultural details, Waniek :3 for help with Matéùsz and Barnim, Juneau Woolies for the yarJuneau Wooliesknit vests, and Ivory for being a friend aIvoryllow artist who’s influenced her work, and Ivory for letting me make Ivoryl of her character!
Swipe through to see more of what Nanzz has been making, and find them at Nanzz on Instagram and Tumblr! 💻
We take work/life balance very seriously around here. 📦

Attention Juneau: we’ve got two of our own representing Alaska all the way in the Faroe Islands this Friday. 💗
Annie Bartholomew and Kat Moore are performing at Pan-ArcticVision, a music showcase that brings together artists from across the circumpolar North. Think Eurovision, but Arctic.
We’ll be watching the live broadcast at Kindred Post on Friday, October 2 at 10:30am, and we’d love for you to come cheer them on with us.
10 artists, 10 songs, 10 Arctic communities, and a very good reason to spend your Friday morning with us. :)
Big thanks to KXLL 100.7 FM for sponsoring the watch party!!
A fitting little reminder from The Gentle Tarot. 🌱 We thrive with our community behind us.
Created by Alaska-based artist Mariza Aparicio-Tovar, The Gentle Tarot is rooted in our relationships with ourselves, each other, and the natural world. Every card is hand-drawn and full of imagery inspired by Alaska, making it an especially lovely deck to slow down with and spend some time noticing.

Jason & Katrina have been honing their craft for over 35 years, offering tarot and rune readings, space blessings, spell jars, and more. Come see us October 2 from 4:30–7pm! ✨
For the friend who doesn’t need anything… but absolutely needs something silly! 🪿

One of those things you buy once and somehow end up carrying around for the next 10 years. (As long as you don’t lose it)
Opinel knives are simple, sturdy, and made to be used. Tuck them into a picnic basket, bring along on camping trips, use in the garden, or keep it close for daily tasks.
One of our favorite forever of tools. 🔪✨

We talk a lot about the people who make the things in our shop, but not nearly enough about the people who make the shop happen every day. Soooo, meet the crew!! 💌 These are the people answering your questions, receiving approximately one million packages, rearranging things, making signs, taking photos, recommending their favorites, and saying hi when you walk through the door!
