🌼 45! 🌼
Some years, when I sit down to do my annual birthday reflection, the words come easily. And some years, the reflection feels ongoing; like something that can’t be rushed to share in bullet points and is still taking shape. It’s a fun surprise to see what version of reflection each year will bring. 😉
While I have always loved the satisfaction of checking a box and crossing to-do’s off a list, reaching middle age has had a funny way of making me less interested in what’s already happened or what’s coming next (perhaps because I’ve now spent half a lifetime worrying about those things), and more interested in soaking in the moment we get right now. If you think about it, that’s all we truly have, and often, the thing we overlook the most frequently.
So, while it’s customary for the person celebrating the birthday to receive the birthday wishes, today, my wish is that you join me in celebrating the gift of living in this moment together, in all its messy evolution.
Grateful for all that has lead to this. 🫶🏼
