Asked where he sees the local market heading over the next several years, Dan Toback pointed to what he's hearing from a broker friend of over 20 years - that friend's foreclosure caseload is the highest it's been in eight or nine years. Toback described it as real, tangible data reflecting a difficult stretch for some homeowners.

Derelict and at-risk boats are accumulating across Treasure Coast waterways faster than they can legally be removed, from Vero Beach and the Indian River Lagoon down through Fort Pierce, Jensen Beach, and Manatee Pocket.
A cluster near North Hutchinson Island alone includes roughly 15 wrecked or sunken vessels. Officials link the trend to rising living costs, and removal can take months or even years once a boat is reported.
