Today, Comstock Fire & Rescue was proud to participate in the Great Lakes Burn Camp Parade with Ladder 941 and Engine 912.
This annual tradition is a great opportunity to support an incredible organization that provides life-changing experiences for young burn survivors while bringing communities and first responders together. We are honored to be part of such a meaningful event and appreciate everyone who came out to cheer on the parade.
Thank you to the Great Lakes Burn Camp for Kids for everything you do for these amazing campers. We're proud to stand with you and support your mission.
Looking forward to a great turnout for this special tradition!

Capt Krueger and Lt McGruder attended Firemanship Conference 2026 in Aurora Illinois this week. The conference consisted of 3 days of lectures with topics about leadership, motivation, PTSD, and doing it for THEM (the citizens we have sworn to protect). This was then followed up with 2 days of intense hands on training involving forcible entry under live fire learning new skills and improving technique. Looking forward to what they bring back to the department!

We are in the middle of a stretch of sweltering temperatures that is expected to last over the next several days.
Please take it seriously. Drink plenty of water, limit strenuous activity during the hottest part of the day, and take breaks in the shade or air conditioning. Check on older family members, neighbors, and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat.
Our crews are ready to respond if needed, but the best outcome is preventing heat-related emergencies before they happen!
Stay cool, stay hydrated, and look out for one another.

Comstock Engine 911 and Traffic Unit 988 are currently on the scene of a two-vehicle traffic crash at the intersection of Sprinkle Road and AMVETS Memorial Highway.
Multiple lanes are blocked in all directions while emergency crews work to clear the scene. Please avoid the area if possible and use an alternate route to help reduce congestion and allow responders to work safely.
There are no reported injuries at this time.
