Labradorite! A form of feldspar originally found in Labrador Canada in 1770. Its flash, or labradorescence, is caused by its very thin and compacted layers. As light travels down into the stone, these layers refract and reflect the colors back to the surface. Did you know? The colors of labradorite are not actually within the stone. Instead, they depend on how a light source refracts through its layers! The more intense the color and hues you see, the deeper the layers of the stone!
