There’s something special about family and racing that’s hard to put into words.

Looking through these photos that are all memories from this date over the years, brings back so many memories. One of them is from Deegan’s very first trip to Fairbury, a little kid wide-eyed and taking it all in. Now, years later, here he is in the pits with Ben, learning the same lessons, sharing the same passion, and building memories of his own. Watching Ben help guide Deegan through racing is one of those full-circle moments that reminds us what this sport is really about.

Racing isn’t just laps, trophies, or checkered flags. It’s family. It’s generations growing up at the track. It’s the late nights in the shop, the long drives, the victories, the disappointments, and the people who make every moment worthwhile.

And seeing Eric in these pictures makes them even more meaningful. There isn’t a race weekend that goes by where we don’t think about him. We miss his half assed ornery smile, his stories, his laughter, and his presence more than words can say. While we wish he was still standing beside us in the pits, we know a part of him will always be there every time we unload a race car and spend time together as a family.

The years may pass, kids may grow up, and roles may change, but the memories we make at the racetrack last forever. And this is a perfect example of why I will NEVER apologize and stop annoying everyone by taking pictures. ❤️🏁 ~ Heather
