🏈🌻 STILL LOOKING FOR A HOMECOMING DATE? MEET OUR NEXT CANDIDATE! 🌻🏈
Next up is a gentleman with gorgeous looks, excellent cuddling skills, and one tiny secret…
🤍 MEET WHITMAN! 🤍
This handsome all-white Shepherd mix has one brilliant blue eye and one beautiful brown eye—so he’s already guaranteed to stand out in the Homecoming pictures. 😍
But his personality might be even better.
🐾 Little-dog friendly
🐱 Cat friendly
🩵 People friendly
🌳 Loves exploring the yard
🛋️ Excellent sofa-cuddling companion
🧸 And apparently believes ALL the dog toys belong in his bedroom
Yep. 😂
Whitman has a habit of quietly collecting the squeaky toys and taking them back to his crate so he can snuggle with his treasures.
But this sweet boy’s story didn’t start out nearly as cute.
Whitman was found skin and bones in a rural area of Texas. He needed someone to give him a chance—and thankfully, a wonderful foster stepped up.
Today, Whitman is thriving. 🤍
Now he’s ready for the one thing his foster home was always meant to prepare him for:
🏡 A FOREVER HOME.
Whitman is currently fostered in Texas, but his forever family doesn’t have to be! 🚐
Transport is available out of state for an approved adopter.
So Whitman has just one Homecoming question…
💌 “Will you take me HOME?”
He’ll bring the cuddles.
You might just want to buy extra dog toys. 😉🧸
Apply to adopt Whitman:

🎶 9 TO 5? OUR FOSTERS WORK 24/7. 🐾🩵
It’s 9/25, so of course Dolly Parton’s 9 to 5 is playing in our heads today. 🎶
But around Belle’s Buds Rescue, there’s another group we’re celebrating…
OUR FOSTERS.
Because fostering definitely isn’t a 9-to-5 job.
It’s early morning potty breaks.
Late-night crate training.
Vet appointments and medications.
Learning new routines.
Cleaning up accidents.
Teaching scared dogs that hands can be gentle.
Showing abandoned dogs what it feels like to sleep safely inside a home.
It’s belly rubs, car rides, walks, toys, treats and sometimes letting a foster dog take up WAY more of the bed than originally negotiated. 😂
And it happens 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.
Our fosters are the bridge between “What happened to me?” and “I’m finally home.” 🥹
Every dog they welcome into their home gives us the opportunity to say YES to another dog who needs us.
So on 9/25, while Dolly has us all singing 9 to 5, we want to give a huge THANK YOU to the incredible foster families who keep Belle’s Buds Rescue going 24/7. 🩵🐾
And if you’ve ever thought about fostering…
Apply here- https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfw0CFulDsNPAngKnSCDj16BJb15lg_n3qo3IzE2nPSOhM-PA/viewform
Maybe today is the day to apply for the best unpaid job you’ll ever love. 😉🐶

THEY THOUGHT MAE WAS INJURED…
BUT WHAT THEY FOUND UNDER HER COAT WAS HEARTBREAKING. 💔
Mae was spotted lying in someone’s yard.
She was limping.
From a distance, it looked like this senior Husky girl had suffered an injury.
But when someone stepped in to help her, they discovered something we weren’t expecting.
Mae’s coat was severely matted.
Not a few tangles.
Not something that could simply be brushed out.
Her fur had become so tightly matted that it was pulling against her skin. When her foster began carefully cutting it away, the hair came off in thick sheets.
Underneath it?
Bruising.
The mats had been pulling so tightly against Mae’s skin that they were actually hurting her.
And then something happened.
Once that heavy matting was removed and the tension on her skin was released…
Mae stopped limping.
She hadn’t been limping because of an injured leg.
She had been hurting because of her coat. 💔
We have no idea how long Mae lived like that.
But we do know what happens next.
Mae is a Belle’s Bud now. 🩵
And as her foster has gotten to know her, we’re discovering that underneath everything this girl has been through is one incredibly sweet, easygoing senior.
Mae is estimated to be at least 7 years old.
She is deaf and has minor cataracts.
She is also heartworm positive and currently undergoing treatment, and she has infections in both ears that are being treated.
But none of that tells you who Mae really is.
Her foster says she is incredibly people friendly.
She loves walks.
She is good on a leash.
She loves car rides.
She is 100% potty trained.
She is kennel trained.
She loves to nap.
And perhaps most surprising for a Husky…
she is incredibly quiet. 😂
Mae is so calm and low energy in the house that her foster believes she could even do wonderfully in an apartment.
There is one thing Mae has made clear to us.
She does not want other dogs in her personal space.
When the resident dogs get too close, Mae lets them know she is uncomfortable. Maybe that will change as she heals and decompresses. Maybe it won’t.
For now, we’re listening to Mae.
She needs to be the only dog in her foster home.
And this is where we need our village.
Mae needs a committed foster who can give her the stability she deserves while she continues her heartworm treatment and healing.
You do NOT have to live in Houston.
For the right 100% committed foster, Mae can be fostered outside the Houston area or even out of state, and we can work on transportation.
She doesn’t need a marathon runner.
She doesn’t need a house full of excitement.
She needs a peaceful place to sleep.
A person to take her on leisurely walks.
Someone to bring her along for the car rides she loves.
And maybe, for the first time in a very long time, a home where she can simply relax and know she is safe.
Someone noticed Mae lying in that yard.
Someone stopped.
Someone helped.
Now we need one more person to say yes.
“Mae can stay with me.” 🩵
🏡 FOSTER NEEDED — ONLY DOG
📍 Currently in the Houston, Texas area
🚗 Transport can be arranged for an approved, committed foster

Can’t foster?
SHARE HER.
Her foster may be in Houston.
They may be several hours away.
They may even be in another state.
We just need Mae’s story to reach them.
Welcome to Belle’s Buds, sweet Mae. 🩵🐾
You don’t have to hurt like that anymore.

MAXWELL CHECKING IN! 🤍🐾
Look at this sweet face. Maxwell wanted to pop in with a little update — and a BIG thank you to everyone who has donated toward his medical care. And a special thank you to M. McGee for all the wonderful Amazon goodies you sent just for him! 🥹
Maxwell saw Dr. Bowen yesterday, and despite everything he’s been through, he was one happy boy. We learned he’s only about 16 months old. He actually had a microchip, but sadly, it was never registered.
Right now, we’re working on getting this boy healthy from the inside out. He’s on special food to help settle his stomach, antibiotics for his skin infections, and he’s already had a couple of medicated baths. Today he’ll also have his heartworm test, so keep those fingers crossed for good news. 🙏
But here’s the BEST part…
Tomorrow Maxwell is joining the Clarke family! 🎉 They’re opening their home to foster him and give him all the love, patience and care this sweet boy deserves while he heals.
From an emaciated dog hiding scared in a pump house to this… safe, cared for, and heading into a loving foster home. This is what rescue looks like, and we couldn’t do it without all of you.
Stay tuned… Maxwell family photos coming soon! 🤍🐾

💐 CLEMENTINE HAS THE HOMECOMING DRESS… NOW SHE JUST NEEDS SOMEONE TO ASK HER TO COME HOME. 🏡💕
Clementine has already been somebody’s mama.
She raised an entire Baker’s Dozen of puppies. Thirteen little lives depended on her.
But before they became the sweet, safe puppies we know today, Clementine and her babies were sitting in a shelter — and Clementine was scheduled to be euthanized that day.
Her temporary foster had gone to the shelter to pick up another dog, a senior.
Then she saw Clementine.
A mama behind the kennel bars with all of those babies.
She simply couldn’t leave them behind.
And that decision saved 14 lives. 🥹🩵
Now that we’re getting to know Clementine outside of the shelter, we’re seeing just how incredibly special this mama is.
She is SO gentle.
She melts into you when you pet her. She loves curling up beside her temporary foster dad on the sofa and soaking up every bit of affection she can get. 🥹
One night, they put a dog bed beside their own bed for her.
Clementine curled up on it, slept there all night and never moved.
Almost as if she knew she was finally somewhere safe.
She is well-behaved, affectionate and wonderful with other dogs. We haven’t had the opportunity to see her around children yet, but because of her gentle nature with people, we think she could do very well with respectful, dog-savvy kids.
🐾 About Clementine:
• Hound mix
• Approximately 45–50 lbs
• Gorgeous red-and-white coloring
• One beautiful blue eye and one brown eye
• Dog friendly
• Incredibly affectionate
• Gentle and well-behaved
• Professional cuddler ❤️
Right now, Clementine is still with her temporary foster, and we would really love to give this mama some stability.
She spent so much time taking care of her babies.
Now we want someone to choose HER.
So, Clementine…
You’ve got the homecoming dress. 💐
You’ve got the beautiful eyes.
You’ve definitely got the cuddling skills.
There’s just one question left:
🏡 WHO’S GOING TO ASK CLEMENTINE TO COME HOME? 🩵
We are accepting applications for a committed foster OR forever family.
She was almost out of time once.
Now we want to make sure the rest of her life is filled with nothing but time — time to cuddle, time to feel safe, and time to finally be someone’s baby instead of always being the mama. 🥹
Apply to foster or adopt:

Please share Clementine. Her Baker’s Dozen got their second chance because she was saved that day.
Now it’s Mama’s turn. 🩵🐾

💙🐾 MAX UPDATE: SAFE. LOVED. ADOPTED. 🐾💙
Remember Max? The barely one-year-old English Bulldog who came to us after being left outside in a crate in the Texas heat?
The little guy who didn’t seem to understand what a dog bed was. Who didn’t like being crated. Who woke throughout the night and needed time to learn that he was finally somewhere safe.
Look at him now. ❤️
Max has officially been ADOPTED by the wonderful family who helped him learn that he is safe, loved and, most importantly, allowed to just be a puppy.
Since coming into our care, Max has also had surgery to correct his cherry eyes and has been neutered. His family says his stitches are healing well, and he’ll continue being monitored as the swelling goes down.
And we’ve learned a few VERY important things about Max along the way. 😂
☀️ He LOVES lying outside in the sunshine.
🦴 Snacks are one of his favorite things in life.
😂 He has personality for DAYS.
❤️ And he’s finally learning what it feels like to belong.
Apparently, getting Max to come inside from sunbathing sometimes requires physically picking up the big guy and carrying him inside. Then, of course, he’s perfectly willing to beg for snacks. 😂
This is the part of rescue we live for.
From a crate on the side of a house to a family who has given him the patience, security and love he needed to become the goofy young Bulldog he was always meant to be.
Thank you for adopting one of our dogs and changing Max’s entire life. 💙
Happy tails, sweet boy. You are HOME. 🏡🐾

🚨 SCAM ALERT — PLEASE READ & SHARE 🚨
We need to make our BBR family aware of something very important.
We have learned that scammers are impersonating Belle’s Buds Rescue on social media and contacting people asking them to fulfill pledges or make donations.
They have gone as far as using our name, our logo and our photos and creating PayPal donation pages that appear to be connected to us.
THEY ARE NOT.
⚠️ Here is one of the biggest things to look for:
When you donate to our official PayPal, the recipient will show Belle’s Buds Rescue.
It will NOT show an individual person’s name.
If you click a donation link claiming to be for Belle’s Buds Rescue and PayPal says you are donating to an individual person, STOP. Do not send the money.
🐾 PLEASE PROTECT YOURSELF:
• Only use donation links shared directly from our official Belle’s Buds Rescue social media pages or website.
• Double-check the recipient before completing any payment.
• Be cautious of unsolicited messages asking you to fulfill a pledge or send money.
• If something doesn’t look right, message us directly before donating.
Unfortunately, scammers are taking advantage of people who simply want to help dogs in need. 💔
Please SHARE this post so we can protect our supporters, donors and fellow rescue community.
Thank you for trusting us, supporting our mission and helping us keep our community safe. 🩵🐾

🏈🌻 NEED A HOMECOMING DATE? MEET OUR CANDIDATES! 🌻🏈
First up…
🤎 SKOR 🤎
If your ideal Homecoming date is handsome, friendly, gives great paw shakes and thinks staying close to you is the best place to be…
SKOR would like to submit his application. 😂
This gorgeous 3–5-year-old chocolate Lab mix was saved from the euthanasia list at a local shelter, and this boy seems pretty grateful for his second chance.
His Homecoming Date résumé is looking pretty good:
🐾 Dog friendly
🩵 Loves people
👧 Great with kids
🥰 Professional belly-rub recipient
🐶 Loves being near his people
🎉 Great at adoption events
🤝 Knows sit AND shake
SKOR is still working on his leash skills. His biggest problem? He gets so excited when he sees new people that he wants to hurry over and meet them. 😂 We’re working on reminding him that his Homecoming date isn’t going anywhere!
One important note: SKOR is not a match for a home with cats.
SKOR isn’t really asking for one night at Homecoming, though.
He’s looking for something much better…
🏡 A FOSTER OR FOREVER HOME.
This sweet boy already got his second chance at life. Now we’d love to give him the chance to know what it feels like to truly belong.
🤎 So… who would say YES to SKOR?
