Since 2022, the Ray Stoesser Memorial Scholarship has supported outstanding students who are passionate about agriculture and the future of the U.S. rice industry.

Each recipient represents the next generation of agricultural leaders and has demonstrated a commitment to making a difference in agriculture.

Meet the scholars who have been part of Ray’s legacy:
🌾 2022 — Lance Nicholas

Lance Nicholas was the 2022 first-place recipient of the Ray Stoesser Memorial Scholarship. A graduate of Texas Tech University in Agricultural Education, Lance has been active in agricultural education, leadership, and research, with a particular interest in strengthening agricultural education and preparing the next generation of agricultural leaders.

He has also researched teacher turnover in secondary agricultural education programs and continues to pursue opportunities in agricultural education and outreach.
