FOUND! Seattle Police say Natalie was located thanks to someone who say the social media post on instagram.

They recognized her at the QFC on Capitol hill at approximately 3:30 today. She is back with her parents.

She was last seen around 7 p.m. on Sunday, Aug 9th wearing a purple tank top, jeans and no shoes running northbound in the 2500 block of Dexter Ave N down the hill towards Nickerson St.

She was wearing the same tank top and dolphin necklace pictured below.

Natalie is 5’0, 130lbs with brown eyes & hair.

PIERCE COUNTY SHOPLIFTERS CAUGHT STEALING IN KENT

This past Sunday evening at 10:50 p.m. Kent Police Officers were dispatched to a retail store on 104th Ave SE for shoplift in progress. A store employee called 911 to report that three adult women and one adult male were grabbing merchandise, hastily stuffing it into bags and carts and headed for the exterior doors.

Sergeants Silas and Lontz arrived quickly and watched as one suspect, a 29-year-old Tacoma woman, exited the store carrying a pile of clothing. She saw them in the parking lot, dropped the items and tried to walk away as if nothing was happening. She eventually complied with directions and was detained without further incident.

The second suspect, a 24-year-old Tacoma woman, was right behind the first one, and was seen passing all points of sale as she exited the first set of glass doors to escape. She too saw the officers in the lot and just prior to exiting out of the 2nd set of doors, she turned around and went back inside. The concept of ‘if you can see us, we can see you’ didn’t track for this suspect, as she started to dump the concealed items she had not paid for out of her large purse. As officers watched, she dropped the unpaid items on the floor in an apparent attempt to escape arrest. She was also detained without incident.

Suspects number 3 and 4, a 40-year-old Tacoma woman and 27-year-old Lakewood man, were still inside the store. They too had collected clothing and passed all points of sale, but as they watched their companions being detained, they decided to drop their items near a counter.

The suspects initially denied knowing each other, but that was quickly debunked as one suspect decided to share that they had all arrived together in the same car. The car contained drug paraphernalia and one suspect stated that there were probably drugs inside as well. The vehicle was towed pending a search warrant to retrieve the items.

Two of the suspects had warrants and were booked into SCORE.
Due to the volume of clothing involved, the case is with detectives to complete the investigation.

Great job by Sgts. T. Lontz and Silas, and Officers Rojas, and N. Lontz responding quickly, and detaining all the suspects without further incident.

It does not escape our attention that these suspects decided to travel to Kent to steal from one of our businesses. We prefer that they don’t steal from anyone, but if they insist on continuing....stop doing it in Kent. We will respond and arrest you.

OFFICERS ARREST WOMAN WITH WARRANTS OUT OF STOLEN VEHICLE

Yesterday morning at 2:27 a.m. KPD Officer Toledo-Blanco was on routine patrol, when he received an ALPR notification of a stolen vehicle downtown near Willis St. As he approached the area, a second notification told him the vehicle, a 1999 Toyota Corolla, was headed towards 64th and W Meeker St. Multiple Kent patrol units converged on the area and found the stolen vehicle inside a nearby apartment complex, parked and still occupied. Officers pinned the vehicle in place with their bumpers, and both the driver and passenger complied with directions to exit.

The vehicle had been stolen on August 9th, after it was left running while the driver stepped out to conduct a brief task at a downtown bank. Not brief enough. We want to pause here to remind everyone that it is never a good idea to leave your car unoccupied, or occupied with children/pets/elderly, running. It's tempting, we know, especially when you want to keep you AC running in the hot weather. A lot of people do this, and it usually works out ok.

But it only takes one bad guy in the right place at the right time.

The passenger, a 20-year-old Kent woman, was initially not entirely forthcoming. However, through patient investigation it was discovered that she had multiple Kent warrants totaling over 15K for theft, attempted theft and possession of controlled substances.

She admitted to previously being inside stolen cars and admitted that the drug paraphernalia found in the car was hers. She was intending to use it before they were discovered but declined knowledge that the car had been stolen. She was booked into our Kent jail.

The driver, a 34-year-old Kent man, stated that the female passenger had given him the keys to the car and that he had no knowledge it was stolen. The officer who took the original stolen vehicle case had reviewed the video of the theft taken by the bank cameras. The male in the theft did not match the description of the driver, and was released at the scene after determining he did not have warrants.

Further investigation will be conducted to determine who originally stole the vehicle, if the female passenger was involved, and if the driver had knowledge that the car was stolen at the time he was detained.

Great job by the officers of patiently wading through the disparate stories and sifting through all the available evidence. Nicely done.

CAR SEATS ARE MANDATORY-AS THEY SHOULD BE

Hello Kent, today we have a plea from one of our traffic officers to help get more of our little Kent tikes into car seats. The officers are running into more and more people who are either not educated in car seats laws and/or have no idea how to safely install them.

So PLEASE when you're done reading, share this post and it's information far and wide and help protect the travelling littles.

Here's the rules in WA State, (they are similar across the U.S.A.)

Children MUST ride in a rear-facing car seat until age 2
Children MUST ride in a harnessed seat until age 4
Children MUST be in a car seat OR booster seat until they reach 4 feet 9 inches tall, and are able to use a proper seat belt.

There is also a 'backseat' rule that states children under 13 MUST ride in the back seat unless it is impractical to do so.

We know that car seat installation is often frustrating; we all have kids and have had that experience. Below are three resources for you with lots of info on why car seats save lives, and where you can get info and help both with choosing the proper seat and installation.

Bottom line is you can't control anyone else's driving. Kids not in car seats are seriously injured or killed in collisions. Help us help others and chat about this with your family and friends.

We visited so many great neighborhoods during NNO, it's gonna take a few posts for us to do justice to the experiences. MAN SUSPECTED OF MULTIPLE SHOOTINGS TAKES HIS LIFE WHEN KENT POLICE ATTEMPT TO ARREST HIM

Kent, WA – August 5, 2026

Earlier today, Kent Police Detectives set out to locate a 20-year-old Kent man suspected of an armed robbery and shooting that occurred in Kent on April 24, 2026. Investigators also believed the suspect was involved in a drive-by shooting that occurred yesterday at the Walmart on South Union Avenue in Tacoma.

In the Tacoma incident, Tacoma Police officers were attempting to arrest a shoplifting suspect when individuals inside a vehicle fired multiple rounds at the officers.

Tacoma Detectives, who had been actively investigating that shooting overnight, coordinated with Kent Detectives. Through their joint investigation, detectives determined both agencies were searching for the same suspect.

Kent Detectives located the suspect at a residence in the 13900 block of South 259th Place in Kent. Patrol officers established a perimeter while negotiators worked to get the suspect to peacefully surrender.

Negotiators established phone contact with the suspect and successfully convinced him, along with two family members, to exit the residence. However, as they came outside, the suspect suddenly turned around, ran back into the home, and locked the door behind him.

Negotiators made repeated attempts to re-establish communication, but the suspect did not respond. The family members were safely moved away from the residence. A short time later, officers heard what was believed to be a single gunshot from inside the home.

Because the suspect was believed to be involved in two separate shootings and an armed robbery, the Valley SWAT Team (VSWAT) was requested to assist. VSWAT assumed responsibility for the tactical operation and continued efforts to communicate with the suspect without success.

After additional attempts to contact the suspect failed, and after an arrest warrant had been obtained, VSWAT breached the front door and deployed a drone inside the residence. The suspect was located in a bedroom, unconscious and unresponsive. SWAT personnel then entered the home, where they found the suspect with what appeared to be a self-inflicted gunshot wound.

Officers immediately began providing medical aid, but King County Medic One personnel pronounced the suspect deceased at the scene.

Kent Detectives continue to investigate the incident. The King County Medical Examiner's Office responded to the scene and will determine the official cause and manner of death.

Chief Rafael Padilla noted, "Our officers, detectives, negotiators, and the Valley SWAT Team approached this incident with one goal—to safely take a dangerous suspect into custody peacefully. While today's incident did not end as anyone had hoped, I am grateful that no other people were physically harmed. Our detectives will continue working to ensure a complete investigation is conducted. We owe that to the victims of the shootings and the family of the deceased suspect. I also want to thank the Tacoma Police Department. Their hard work and collaboration was instrumental in locating this suspect.”

KENT POLICE INVESTIGATING TRAIN FATALITY

Kent, WA-August 3, 2026

On Sunday August 2nd, 2026, at 5:13 p.m. Kent Patrol Officers were dispatched to the area of 301 Railroad Ave S., in regard to a train striking a pedestrian. Upon arrival officers located an adult female, age 39, who was pronounced deceased at the scene.

The conductor advised that they were N/B on the tracks, approaching the transit center when he observed a person crossing the tracks in front of them. The person stopped on the tracks and faced the train. The conductor activated the train horn repeatedly, but the person did not move off of the tracks.
