Some people despise catching barracudas but not us! They put on a spectacular performance with many runs and jumps! These guys were able to land several all on 10lb test and top water baits.

These young anglers had an awesome day catching a few goliath grouper and a trophy sized mutton snapper!

Above the Cut Charters has officially moved to a new home at the Hilton Key West Resort & Marina!!!! (formerly Oceans Edge Resort and Marina) Same captain. Same boat. Same great fishing—just a new place to meet us. The water temps have been hot but the fish are still cooperating for us! Here’s some variety from the last week or so. Bonefish, barracuda, Goliath grouper and mutton snapper are just a few of the many species we target here in the inshore waters!!

Fish quiz time!!! Can anyone name this fish? Despite their interesting shape they put on a good fight that is similar to a bonefish!

We know how to catch fish but now we get to look sharp while doing it!! Just got done with some long overdue detail work and couldn’t be more happy with the result. Truly looks like a different boat. Have to give a huge shoutout to Jordan Reader for getting us back looking 100%, he’s the best in the business!!

The Lower Keys have witnessed a considerable abundance of bonefish in recent years. Known for their impressive strength and remarkable camouflage, bonefish have become a highly sought-after species among anglers. The approaching late summer/ early fall months are a great time to target them if you’re looking to cross it off the list!!

If you’re looking to catch a Tarpon you should probably check us out…. The Tarpon stands out as one of our most sought-after species and a personal favorite to catch, distinguished by their impressive acrobatics and remarkable strength, which contribute to their status as one of the world's most coveted game fish, and we are fortunate to have a remarkable fishery for them. While we can target them most of the year, the peak migration months are April-June. This is typically a very busy time for us so it’s recommended to book your trip well in advance to secure prime dates!

Looking back at photos from January to March, we had outstanding fishing experiences during the late winter and early spring season in Key West. The Cobia is one of our most sought-after catches, admired for its impressive power, aggressive nature, and above all, its delicious flavor.
