The closing weekend of California Art Club 115th Gold Medal exhibition at Hilbert Museum is here, and I’m so thrilled to have joined so many amazing artists for my 4th consecutive Gold Medal show! 👩‍🎨

SKWAWK! The (non-glass) peafowl did not care for my artistic bu****it. 😅

It made for such a memorable experience painting these colorful handmade stained glass windows honoring the opinionated resident peacocks Hollywood Forever Cemetery cemetery. I loved how the vines overlapped with the colorful panels, and incorporated elements of the wrought iron entrance gate and sign into the overall composition. 🦚

My watercolor urban sketch is among 300 other wonderful works Urban Sketchers Tulsa Centennial exhibit. Each inclusion was created on location across the historic road by 7 different Urban Sketchers chapters! Our artwork is on a tour across 4 cities in 3 states: Chicago, IL; Springfield, MO; Tulsa & Oklahoma City, OK 🎨

Thanks to for a wonderful sketch-out

It was wonderful to experience and commemorate a special place I’ve been visiting since I was a kid in a new way before the museum closes for renovation until 2028.

The weather was gorgeous, and I really enjoyed drawing on toned paper with my fude fountain pen filled with grey permanent ink, which gave me lots of mark-making variety without having to switch tools. My water-soluble crayons helped me thrown down color quickly in a clutch as time began to run out because you know I love to get lost spending too much time rendering tiny details. 😜
