Lieske exemplifies leadership and we are so thankful for her statewide guidance as a Past President of WPHA and one of our policy and advocacy committee leaders. She has a way to ask the tough questions and move us forward together. We know she will continue to be a force for public health!
Join us in her congratulations of this next step and chapter!
After 14 years of dedicated leadership of the Eau Claire City-County Health Department, Lieske Giese will be stepping down as Director and Health Officer. Story in the comments.

There's still time to join us for our keynote presentation - "The Ultimate Group Project" by Dr. Jeanette Kowalik!
As we approach the November elections, this session will draw on a familiar experience from our group project years: learning how to collaborate, navigate differences, and work collectively toward a shared goal. Much like a successful group project, effective civic engagement requires understanding different perspectives, identifying common priorities, and contributing to a collective outcome.
The session will explore ways public health professionals can engage in advocacy and civic activities, addressing a common barrier to participation and helping participants identify meaningful opportunities to use their voice and expertise.
The session will also increase awareness of public health-related issues and authorities that may be affected through the ballot, including changes that could influence the role and capacity of public health agencies. The goal is not to direct how participants should vote, but to encourage greater awareness, informed civic participation, and understanding of how elections can shape the public health landscape.
Don't miss this great session!
