When your mama says she's coming to get her hair done.. you do just that. She wanted to get a good trim and a "press" .

We used Design Essentials STS system and gave her a good haircut (don't get in the comments fooling around anytime I open and close the sheers it's a haircut no matter how much comes off.) and baaaaabbbyyy it came out so good. Blow out season is upon us... Hello Fall šŸ‚šŸ

What a difference a year makes....the photo on the left will be 1 year ago Thursday while the photo on the right is today... We don't need to reinvent the wheel involving hair.

No need to make magic potions and gunky lotions to put in your hair. You need to find a regimen that works FOR YOU!

I'm not the stylist to hair type. I'm gonna ask you what's the end result that you're looking for and work from the shampoo bowl to the styling chair. Always remember NO two places on the head are the same. I'm going to put some helpful tips in the comments. These are just STARTING points. While I'm not a medical professional I am a licensed cosmetologist (since 2017) and I love me some healthy hair. I don't profess to know it all but I'm willing to learn it all to help you succeed.

Happy Tuesday good people ā¤ļø

Did you know that September is Alopecia Areata Month?

Alopecia affects millions of people from all ages, ethnicities, and gender worldwide.

Research shows that women tend to be more likely to develop alopecia than men and that generally symptoms are discovered before the age of 40.

According to the National Alopecia Areata there are 3 MAIN types of alopecia. The main 3 are:

•Alopecia Areata (Patchy)- the most common form. Can happen anywhere on the body in circular or oval coin sized patch. This type of alopecia mostly will remain patchy but could also change over to totalis or universalis.

•Alopecia Areata Totalis
Alopecia totalis is the result of hair loss that occurs across the entire scalp.

•Alopecia Areata Universalis
Alopecia universalis is the result of hair loss that spans the entire body, including eyebrows and eyelashes.

Hair loss of is difficult and can be traumatic, especially in instances where it’s falling out without any warning, history, or major life event. However there’s help for those who have been diagnosed with AA as well as there are resources, education and support services for those who know, support and encourage someone who is learning all the things AA related.

I am committed to helping people learn and understand hair loss and scalp conditions. Join me this month as I help bring awareness to AlopeciašŸ’™

I’m working on my trichology certification and I’m researching the effects that PCOS has on our hair. What changes you’ve made or if you’ve not made any why?

If you’ve had/have PCOS and would be willing to talk/video chat with me please send me a private message. If you want to post on this thread that’s fine but I realize the sensitivity of the matter and and open to offline conversation.

Thinning hair and Alopecia are up next but you don’t have to wait until I post please message me.
