Use caution while traveling, allow extra time, and never attempt to drive through a flooded roadway. Conditions can change quickly, so stay weather-aware and have a plan.

🔥 CONTINUING TO SERVE TEXAS 🔥

The Krum Fire Department continues to support communities across Texas through state mission assignments.

Firefighter Peralez and Firefighter Licea have been deployed with our Wildland Paramedic Unit (WPU), supporting various wildland fire assignments across the state. The Krum Fire Department WPU has been deployed for a total of 4 weeks with members rotating to staff it.

Today, two additional Krum Fire resources were activated for State Mission Support in preparation for the severe weather and flooding potential associated with upcoming storms.

🚑 Firefighter Pruett and Firefighter McDurmon deployed as part of an Ambulance Strike Team (AST), with Captain Hernandez deploying as the Ambulance Strike Team Leader (ASTL).

These resources are being prepositioned to assist with emergency response operations as severe weather and potential flooding impact areas of Texas.

Since August 4, Krum Fire Department has continuously had at least one department resource assigned to a state mission—supporting wildland fire operations, severe weather response, and communities in need across Texas.

Whether serving here at home or answering the call elsewhere in the state, our mission remains the same:

📢 BUILDING CODE UPDATE

City Council has officially adopted the 2024 International Code Council (ICC) Codes.

These updated codes help ensure that construction and development within our community continue to meet current standards for safety, quality, and compliance.

🏗️ Contractors, builders, property owners, and residents are encouraged to review the updated requirements.

We know some of us got some rain this week, but that has not improved burn conditions.

Yes, that was actually rain yesterday for some of us at least.
No, it did not cancel the burn ban.

Denton County is still experiencing extreme drought conditions, and vegetation remains very dry despite the brief “wetness from the sky.”

A little rain helps — but we’re going to need more than that.

is a day that stays with all of us, especially those who have chosen a life of service.

On this , we remember the lives lost and honor the first responders who answered the call with courage and selflessness.

This weekend, Firefighter Miguel Maldonado and Driver Jubal Castleberry took part in the Dallas 9/11 Memorial Stair Climb with several other fire departments. They climbed in honor and remembrance of those who made the ultimate sacrifice on September 11, 2001.

We are proud of Miguel and Jubal for carrying on the meaning of "Never Forget" and for representing our fire department and City.
